Did Martell mention Rhaegar this last episode? Cause I am sure most of the unsullied thought (who). Are they going to bring Jon Snows parentage in the show at last?
I don’t want to go off on a tangent, but what a jarring and annoying use of an exclamation point. I’d beg you to find another way to do it. Heck even “Book Shae” or “Book-Shae” are 100 percent clear and without jarring uses of punctuation.
Maybe it’s alphabetical? Using first name instead of last if no last exists? Dayne, Duncan, … Lannister
Would be a pain to update without a word processor, though.
Nah, the show’s mentioned him lots of times. Martell did mention him, but it wasn’t the first time. The casual viewer might not remember who he is, but the obsessed internet fans have already figured out the R+J=L theory, from TV sources alone. (Unless of course they are really book readers trolling as unsullied, or they got spoiled by something from a “helpful” book reader.)
Its pretty standard amongst a lot of fan-fiction and internet communities.
And I am with the camp who want Joffery dead already. You’d have thought he’d have learned his lesson after the poo-flinging incident, but no.
I don’t doubt it. I am still hoping that it doesn’t become standard here.
I don’t expect this. Viewers would rightfully feel betrayed if it turned out that all they thought they knew about Shae was a lie all along. It would really be a cheap trick.
I hope the directors had the gut to make Tyrion kill Shae; I will be disapointed if they didn’t. The fact they’re turning Shae into a jealous harpy hints this way, though. I’m not enthralled by the concept, but it’s still better than having her killed by Tiwyn or something.
I thought it was the same character but wasn’t very sure.
I thought they were setting up Shae to be tortured by Cersei & Qyburn. Instead of catching the wrong whore, she’ll catch the right one. Tyrion still felt compelled to coorperate in the book, so it wouldn’t change that aspect. I don’t see how this can lead to Shae’s death at Tyrion’s hands, though, so maybe they’ll do away with the Tywin-Shae weirdness and strangulation.
Why is it so hard to envision Tyrion killing TV Shae? She still gets to humiliate him at his trial and fuck his father. That should be enough to drive a man to kill a woman he thought he loved.
At least two more seasons after this one.
Wait, what? I’ve never heard of this one!
It’s hard to imagine TV Shae doing those things - at least, it is for me, at this point in the series.
So the necklace that Sansa got from Dontos - is that going to replace the purple hairnet? The stones in that necklace looked too big to remove without the wearer noticing.
You’re not the only one thinking that. And if dying naked in front of a crowd isn’t humiliating enough; remember there’s a reason why some prisons make inmates wear diapers during the execution.
Everything I’ve heard about Jack Gleeson is that he’s Joffrey’s polar opposite, and he plans on giving up acting in favour of an academic career.
Not like Howland Reed, but like a Crannogman. This is wild book speculation, but you can read about it here.
Way back in season 1 I worried about Jack Gleeson. Good thing his real life person is not that well known in The States, because I could see people hating him in the US. And, sometimes, we have a problem separating the actor from the character.
And another thing. . . Why isn’t he being heaped with acting awards and accolades? He’s the absolute perfect Joffery. So much so that our very own Sampiro thinks he’s an awful person in real life. Actually, I think his lack of acting accolades is lending support to the idea that Jack Gleeson is a terrible person in real life.
Yeah, everything I’ve heard is that the actor is one of the sweetest guys you could meet. In fact, he apparently regularly would apologize to the other actors/actresses on the set about the terrible things he had to say as Joffrey.
It’s looking like the necklace is replacing the hairnet.
Easier to notice visually, I guess? And there probably will be some interference with the necklace Grandma Tyrell is searching for Margaery.
I’m surprised no one has mentioned this (they may have in the unspoiled thread, I haven’t read it yet) but, the show pretty much confirmed R + L = J speculation with this episode, right? It was always unclear what exactly transpired between Rhaegar and Elia and how Lyanna was involved. But now it’s pretty clear, based on what Oberyn said, Rhaegar left Elia for Lyanna and presumably fathered Jon, right?
You’re making a huge leap that the show has not.
We don’t know if he left Elia to violently take Lyanna (like Robert must’ve believed). We don’t know if they had a child. We don’t know who that theoretical child is.
Howland Reed is the only man who could clear up these things, and we’ve not seen him so far.
Sorry- I dictated to Siri and this came out a bit mangled in the transliteration. I was meaning to say I don’t find the actor or the character attractive. (The only thing I know about the actor is that he plans to quit acting for a while upon leaving the show concentrate on this studies in theology in Hebrew.)
