We know Jon is right in both mediums. We don’t know how it’ll go down on the show. I don’t imagine it’ll just be them stabbing him as soon as he gets back from hardholme.
Yes, I think that was a waste of an episode, given how much needs fitted in. Seemed to be doing a lot of nothing.
Also we’ve got non book stuff to progress. Like what the hell happens with Tyrion. I’ve always reckoned he was the one with the dragon training knowledge, having read all those books…
It’s a good chance the battle of winterfell will happen this season. Plus Hardholme being past book progress too…
Did I skip a chapter in the book? I can’t remember a battle in White Harbour… Manderley is out too, so even more confused…
You are missing the point, book Jon totally earned his Ceasaring by trying to get the nightswatch to take part in regular politics. It is unlikely that happens in the show.
It’s possible it can happen in the show, but we don’t have a Donal Noye like character in the show anymore. If its Allister Thorne leading the stabbing, then the show watchers will be like, they sold Jon out! As opposed to, he was violating his vows and while he wasn’t ordering the Night’s Watch to take part in politics of the realm, he basically was trying to get them to do just that. The only person who really could stab Jon in a way to make people realize that Jon may be in the wrong would be Sam, and yes, they likely wouldn’t do that.
I’m mentioning stuff that we almost certainly know will be in the episodes because of the previews. The reason I’m mentioning them is because they will carve out a lot of the three episodes left. And we see from next weeks preview there will be a crapload of politicking ("I’m not following a crow! Me neither…etc…) before a battle even properly starts??
I think that’s brilliant actually. Sam could be the last one to land a blow and tearfully say, “For the Watch”
Which would help explain why (I think) Sam has literally had more screen time than any other actor this season…maybe Sansa.
What he’s saying is that there is no Battle in White Harbor, either in the books or in previews. So clarification, please.
Of course, we just saw Sam violate his vows…
In the trailer a few months back there appeared to be a wight attack on White Harbour.
I’m betting that Hardholme, not White Harbor.
Oh EFF ME…I thought they said the Wildlings were in White Harbor.
I was wondering why the show scenes of the city (which I now know is Hardholme) were so unimpressive compared to artists renderings of White Harbor.
They’re not married, so it’s OK! :: winks ::
With Barristan gone, I’m wondering if Tyrion will talk Dany into taking Jorah back as an adviser, then Jorah leads Greyworm and the freed men against Hizdahr when Dany flies off on Drogon.
I could easily see them doing that.
I’m wondering if Jorah will be sent to Westeros on a mission to fulfill his JonCon aspect. Which is more important that we can’t know at this point: Jorah’s impact on Mereen after Drogon and Dany fly away or JonCon’s greyscale coming ashore?
Casting info is starting to come out for next season. I won’t post it here in case anyone is avoiding spoilers, but it’s out there everywhere.
Well the High Sparrow said that both Loras & Margaery would be tried by judges of the faith. I don’t Loras willingly choosing that over a trial by combat so Cersei may not have a choice.
I think Jorah and his greyscale are going to replace the plague in mereen.
So I don’t think this is too spoilerish since it’s just speculation. Given the possible cast list for next year,…is DnD’s plan to wait for George and pick up old plotlines?
The casting info is making me excited :D.
I don’t think it’s necessarily waiting for George, but going back to plots they skipped that likely will play a big part coming up.
They could have Jamie do Riverlands stuff. Do CLEGANEBOWL. I doubt they do any ‘more suitors for Dany’. Do Bran stuff of course. Do Lady Stoneheart stuff if they wanted. Sam do Oldtown stuff if they wanted.
If Stannis is still alive they can keep him penned up North by winter. Have Dany and Tyrion do ‘on the road’ stuff if he were to take off with her on Drogon. Have Littlefinger do LF stuff.
But my problem would be at The Wall. That seems like the last place you’d want momentum to stop. I’m pretty confident that’s one area they simply must follow George’s plan, even if they spoil the next book.
