Here. If true, it sounds like Euron Greyjoy and Randyll Tarly (Sam’s asshole dad) and family as the most significant additions.
As speculated before, if the spark for Jon’s denouement is ‘wildling stuff’ and not ‘the letter’…I’m wondering if we’ll see the conclusion of the Bolton storyline this season. Why drag it on further? Give the viewers a victory. There’s no Mance and the Spearwives. There will be enough cliffhanger action with Jon, there’s no reason to leave Stannis in a blizzard.
The two women fundies sacrifice Shireen, Stannis wins, discovers his daughter dead. Kills Selyse and Melisandre… and Davos and Stannis get more Bro Time and are free from the shackles of magic and prophecies.
Thanks - very interesting!
I don’t think that Melisandre dead and Stannis alive are where the show is going. I’m fairly certain that Melisandre will be aligning with Jon soon.
Also, it seems to me that Littlefinger has to know he can’t possibly take the Iron Throne AND control the Seven Kingdom’s doing so. People with infinitely better claims, and much more loved have tried and failed. Taking the Throne is one thing…keeping the seven kingdoms under control and from tearing each other’s hearts out is another.
If he really is trying to take the whole enchilada, I’d say his true plan is “Take the Iron Throne and get my kicks watching the world burn down to the ground while I do so.”
Yeah, HBO isn’t going to get rid of any lead actress who’s still willing to get naked.
So Valyrian Steel can kill an Other… that’s new.
Makes them a hell of a lot more valuable…though dragonglass should be plentiful still. Is “Lightbringer” Valyrian?
That Jon/Other fight reminded me of the Predator/Arnie fight.
If the 8th episode was that awesome I can only imagine how the next two are gonna be. I thought I read before that Valyrian steel would kill white walkers like obsidian could, I expected that they were setting that up. John’s street cred went through the roof this episode.
Yeah, i could’ve sworn we knew that from the books already.
Definitely not for sure, but it was speculated.
No ****ing wonder the Battle at the Fist went so badly.
Wun Weg Wun Dar Wun shout out!
So two seasons ago we saw Craster giving up his male babies to a walker who took them back to his home and turned the kids eyes blue. We assumed this to be how you convert them to White Walkers but tonight all the free folk had their eyes turn blue too.
So what was going on with Craster’s kids and why did they even need the boys anyway?
Wights eyes are blue also.
White Walkers are not zombies.
In the books it was the Others (supernatural beings that control the zombies) and the wights (zombies). For the show the Other are called the White Walkers.
Also, if you watched the Behind the Episode bit, they talk about how Sansa is now discovering that her two brothers are alive. “Her father is dead, her mother is dead, her sister is dead, both her brothers are dead.” He says.
Which is funny for two reasons. A) Sansa has three brothers* and B) Brienne informed her that Arya was still alive.
- with a .5 margin of error
I’m not sure I understand. Whether you call them Others or White Walkers, the question remains: what did they need Craster’s male babies for?
Eta: the source of my confusion is in the blue eyes, which mos of the zombies did not have, save for the recently resurrected Free Folk at the end. So if Zombies do not have blue eyes and the Others do, what are we to assume happened with the resurrected?
I guess the Sons of Craster become ‘Others’. The more the merrier right?
The wights should have blue eyes. Ones that are too dessicated to have eyes wouldn’t
