Gamera is really neat . . .

Having once been a child, Gamera is a friend to me but I first encountered the phrase “Gamera is really neat. He is made from turtle meat.” in this Thread. Smeghead mentions it in Post#2.

I Googled and found the variations:
[ul]
[li]Gamera is really neat. He is made of turtle meat[/li][li]Gamera is really neat. He is filled with turtle meat[/li][li]Gamera is really neat. He is full of turtle meat[/li][li]Gamera is really neat. Gamera is turtle meat[/li][/ul]

But these hits all pretty much showed Messageboard postings, sometimes in sig lines. In all the cases I rummaged through the quote was used as if the reader should understand exactly where the quote comes from. In my case this is a wrong assumption.

So which variation is correct and where does it come from? ouryL complains (in the linked Thread): “now that f’king song is playing in my head!!”
So it’s a song? A for real song or just a little sung phrase?

It’s from Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Check out “Ward E” under the Songs category.

And they used several of those phrases in the song in the show.

Hirohito Gamera, Hirohito Gamera, Hirohito Ga-me-raaaaa!

Why, thank you.

Curses!!

There it begins again!!

I tried to listen closely to this, but it sounds like Joel, Kevin, and Trace are just yelling along with the music and aren’t sticking 100% to what Mike gave them. Which is fine, it’s blindingly funny. God damn Sandy Frank and his long memory, when will we ever get whole season sets of MST3K?
