Gamers in the D.C. Area -

I’m going to be visiting moms for the next week and while I’m up there (specifically, Alexandria) I’d like to visit a game store since my local burg doesn’t have one.

I figure there’s got to be someplace pretty big and cool in the area - something like NCC-1701 in Tampa or Napoleon’s in Milwaukee.

Anyone have any suggestions?

My data is a few years old but the Compleat Strategist in Falls Church was good. And so was Dream Wizards in Rockville.

Compleat Strategist – Falls Church

Dream Wizards – Rockville

Game Parlor – Chantilly

I haven’t been in Compleat Strategist for years, but I thought it was a little crappy. Dream Wizards is right near my house and I think it’s got a lot of good stuff; even though I don’t really RPG anymore I still pop in ever couple months. (Of course, they often have tournaments on weekends, which leads to the well known phenomenon of Mtg Miasma. But if you’re a regular gamer, I’m sure you’re no stranger to that already.

Miasmas I can handle. Sadly.

So…is Compleat Strategist a very tiny store? If so, I THINK I visited it on my last trip up there.

It’s not big, by any means. The only big one locally that I knew was Dream Wizards.

CS tries to specialize in tabletop strategy games. DW does the full gamut of tabletop through RP through magic and jokes.
