How often do you get the top answer right on Family Fortunes?
Me… -
75%

32,000

2 (I sometimes get lucky with science questions)

Not sure, but I’ll guess 3 or 4 in one person’s general knowledge round. 1 or 0 in their chosen subject round. so 12 in one show.

65%
Weakest Link is no longer in production in the US, and there is no (broadcast) equivalent of University Challenge or Mastermind over here. Dunno about Family Fortunes; is that the same as Family Feud or 100 Mexicanos Dijeron?
WWTBAM: Too much variability to answer “consistently”, since any one question can kill you.
1. Roughly what percentage of questions do you think you can you get right on the average episode of Weakest Link?
About 25% to 35%.
2. What level do you think you can consistently get to on WWTBA Millionaire?
I could usually safely reach the $32,000 level, but by then I’d likely have used all my lifelines. I might get lucky on the “freebie” $64,000 question that follows, but I’d probably be out of lifelines by then.
3. How many questions might you get right on an average episode of University Challenge (hoping there’s a US equicalent)?
No U.S. equivalent I’m aware of.
4. How many questions on Mastermind (hoping there’s an equiv again)?
See above.
5. How often do you get the top answer right on Family Fortunes?
This is “Family Feud” in the U.S. I usually get this one about 60% to 75% of the time.
Quiz snob checking in.
1: Weakest Link?
Dunno, sorry, never watch it.
2: WWTBA Millionaire?
See 1.

University Challenge
This is odd, sometimes it seems that I could win as a team of one - science and technology Qs are easy, arts and music usually too. And sometimes I don’t get a single answer in the whole show - if there are a lot of classics questions, or history or literature. On average say 10. -
Mastermind?
Specialist subjects often none. BTW Lobsang I believe Discworld has been banned as a subject*****
General knowledge 3 - 4 -
Family Fortunes?
I didn’t know this show existed, what’s it on?
Why am I not surprised that there’s no American version of Mastermind or University Challenge? I wonder how QI would go down there?
***** But not Harry effing Potter
Oh good grief, I’m such a geek. Really, I’m not as obnoxious as this makes me out to be.
-
I stopped watching Weakest Link because the questions are too easy and it annoys me when the contestants get the answers wrong. I reckon I know about 80-90% of the answers.
-
WWTBA millionaire…unless it’s sports questions, I can usually get all the answers up to about the £250,000 level.
-
I used to watch this with my parents while I was at school, my average score was about 25 correct answers. Yes, I beat them both every week.
-
Again, watched this with my parents and played along (back when Magnus did it), used to get about 6 or 7 right, watched it the other night, got about 20, but all from the general knowledge round.
-
Don’t watch it.
Never watched this show
I have a problem with the earlier questions about celebrities, soap operas and other such drivel, assuming I get past that, I’d expect to make 1/4 million or more. This is based on playing the online version on their website until the questions started repeating, I won approximately 1/3 of those shows I got over 16K in.
Highly variable, very subject dependant, I’d say I get about 50% of the science questions right and about 25% of everything else.
Obviously in the specialist subject it varys greatly, in general knowledge I would expect to be in the 5-8 range per round (I haven’t seen the show in years, I remember there being roughly 12-14 questions per person, is that still the case?)
Don’t watch this either.
This makes no sense to me, any reasoning given?
