Can anyone tell me when’s a good time to plant this perennial? I am just starting out as a gardener and was also wondering how the flower would do here in Georgia. One website I went to advises to plant indoors, but I really don’t want to do that. Any other tips about this flower will be appreciated.
Thanks

Quasi, I planted Edelweiss in my Michigan garden last year about this time, or maybe a week or two later. Certainly, Georgia is warm enough for Edelweiss now; the concern might be that it will get too hot for this Alpine plant later on. This link suggests that might be the case:
“Once in the garden, edelweiss should be sited in a nook between rocks that has a well drained rock garden soil consisting of five parts coarse grit, one part crushed limestone and one part compost. Then, provided the humidity doesn’t turn the plant to mush in August, it should struggle along for a year or two despite our {Arkansas} summer heat.”

I run a Darwinian garden: stick it in the dirt and see if it lives.
I live in the mountains. It grows wild along the edge of my yard.
Hasn’t blossomed yet, though. I can hardly wait!
