I originally thought it was supposed to be hyperbolic, but the “…near and above boiling point” language sounds sincere. I vote for a stupid journalist who doesn’t know the difference between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
I don’t have an air conditioning “system”! I have AC in two rooms of the house, that’s it. If you want to play on the Xbox these days, you sit three feet from the box fan.
I have heard many people make the same mistake, so yes, I’m sure that’s what happened. 100 F is very hot indeed so that number gets tossed around when there’s a heat wave, and 100 C is water’s boiling point (at sea level blah blah blah) so people sometimes get a little confused.
Actually I do have a TV in the bedroom already, but it’s way too much trouble to move it! Everything’s hooked up to a receiver and I am emphatically not allowed to touch.
