Where were you 15-20 years ago?
In school.
Just revisiting this thread! I need to add that my husband (who retired and now holds the title: “Professor Emeritus”), takes me on dates to the comic book store and adds to my collection of vintage Lois Lane comic books on a regular basis. Better than roses in my book! SIGH
Probably because you are a geeky girl. Geeky girls tend to like people of the same species
I only like the cool nerd type, like Pharrell and Zach Braff and Donald Glover.
Hmm, very smart people are attractive because on one level I believe you are into intelligence for yourself, meaning you value intelligence for your own self. It is a part of your value system. It is home for you, so where another might just find a smart guy a square, you find people who are very smart your style and like them a lot. The law of liking those who are similar to you, or at least are perceived as similar.
Plus, intelligence in general is attractive. It can lead to better conversations, more money, better survival ability, and in this light they are seen to not only have good genes, but also be in a better place to be a father. How do you hunt an animal well or start a fire if you are dumb, and in these days how do you make a lot of money if you lack the smarts to do it. It can be seen as an indicator of a flaw with the mind if you lack intelligence, and in general flaws aren’t sexy.
There is also a theory that we go for people that we like people who our parents are like, so it is possible then that you at a young age at least got used to your parents being very smart, or possibly hung out with nerds or something to where it got into you when you were young.
Uhh being geeky doesn’t make anyone hot. There are some damn ugly geek girls.
Unfortunatly, most cute girls who claim to be a nerd are usually posers and all they do is watch the big bang theory
That makes you a “sapiosexual”.
Yeah, really!
Well actually, they were there. They just didn’t look like Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie. I wasted a lot of my youth before I learned to look for the beauty rather than the flaws. I did manage to spend a lot of the resulting free time learning to play music and program computers, so it wasn’t a total waste.
And, ironically, I am now back at school.
Let us know if it’s a myth.
