I’ve been a GH fan ever since my mom had me watch it when I stayed home sick from school. Those were the days of Robert Scorpio, Anna Devane, and Duke. In college, half of my dorm floor watched GH, cried when Stone died and when Elizabeth got raped. Now, I’ve been able to catch the recent episodes and I’m left with a bunch of questions.
The Ned, Alexis, & Skye thing - I thought Ned and Skye were cousins but it seems that they’re romantically involved now. Isn’t baby Kristina, Alexis and Sonny’s child? How does Ned get custody?
Sonny’s siblings - How does the guy suddenly get two long lost siblings? How are Courtney and Ric related to him?
That goofy looking guy - Who the hell is the kid who hangs out with Maxie and Georgie? And why is he involved with Alcazar?
Old School questions - Where are Luke and Laura? Did Robin ultimately die of AIDs leaving Jason free to move on with his life? How did Brenda get written off the show the most recent time? Where’s Felicia?
The recent episodes I’ve caught haven’t been as inaccessible as they could have been. And I was pleased as punch when Jason mentioned his accident and the brain damage her suffered then Georgie said something about BJ’s heart. I remembers those medical crises! Back when General Hospital was about, oh, a hospital.
Well, I’ve got you beat; I’ve been watching (on and off) since 1963! I started taping about 6 years ago; I’m not really watching as avidly as before right now, but I’ll try to answer your questions below:
Skye’s biological mother, Rae Cummings (Linda Dano, OLTL), claimed that Alan Quartermaine was Skye’s bio Dad. However, Tracy Q had proof that it wasn’t Alan, so Skye is not a Q! We don’t know yet who Skye’s bio Dad is.
Courtney is Sonny’s half sister via Mike’s relationship with an Atlantic City show girl type. LOL Courtney’s Mom was played by the actress who was the wife on the Dave Berry show that starred Harry Anderson as Dave–I can’t think of the actress’ name right now though, sorry! LOL
Rick is Sonny’s brother by his mother; Sonny’s mother worked for Rick’s father on Martha’s Vineyard. Sonny is older; guess he didn’t realize that his Mom was pregnant! I’m not sure, but I think they spell his name Ric. Ric Lansing.
That goofy looking guy (LOL I don’t really like the spiky hair look either!) is Dylan/Dillon Quartermaine, Tracy’s son and Ned’s younger brother! He’s head over heels in love with Georgie and the bad folks (Alcazar and Faith) have threatened Georgie unless he does their bidding … I think that’s why he’s gotten involved with Alcazar. Oh, my daughter adds that Alcazar was going to help with keeping Georgie safe from Faith. LOL
Okay, here’s where it -really- gets complicated! LMAO Laura lost her mind last fall; she’s in a booby hatch somewhere. She was in London (where Genie Francis is staying with her kids while her hubby makes a movie, btw :D), but I think she’s somewhere else right now. Nikolas & Lucky got her there, but Nikolas and maybe Stefan have been manipulating this situation to their advantage, i.e., not letting Luke see her. Right now, Luke is on the run (i.e. Tony Geary’s summer vacation) from murder charges for the murder of Summer, which was a murder that was meant to be Emily and supposedly engineered by Stefan.
Robin has not died; she moved to Paris–she and Jason broke up after she told A.J. that he was the father of Michael, Carly’s son.
Brenda’s most recent departure was to get away from Luis Alcazar, the mobster who had kept her doped up and captive on his yacht. He’s dead now, so I guess Brenda could return at any time …
Felicia is (I think) taking care of Maria in Texas. I really don’t get this–there has been plenty of potential storyline for Felicia with Georgie and Maxie, but GH does not seem to want to bring back Kristina Wagner nor recast the role.
Yes, I definitely remember those days! I’d prefer to see more hospital and/or doctor-oriented stories, but it doesn’t seem like we’re going to get them, unfortunately. Oh and the reason Maxie doesn’t have scars from her heart transplant? Maxie said recently on the show that she’d begged Felicia to let her get plastic surgery to cover them up!
Argh, I forgot about baby Kristina in the first question! Yes, baby K is the bio child of Alexis and Sonny; however, Alexis has said that Ned is the father and I think Ned’s name is on baby K’s birth certificate–she did this to keep Sonny from finding out the truth (although -Carly- knows the truth!). That’s one secret that is going to come out somewhere down the line, I guess. Anyway, that’s how Ned came to have custody of baby K. Although it looks like he’s not going to have her for much longer …
Alexis has tried to tell Sonny that he is the father of the child. However, Sonny was not in the mood to talk to Alexis, and he ranted and raved and said that if he was in Ned’s shoes, he’d be doing the exact same thing, and the baby would be sleeping upstairs (they were in his penthouse at the time.) This freaked Alexis out, and she backed down.
And Ned has custody because Alexis killed Luis Alcazar and blamed it on her non-existant second personality to keep from going to jail. She didn’t go to jail, but she lost her license to practice law and custody of the child. She’s a lawyer again now. And don’t even get me started on the Dobson storyline shudder
Did Felicia go to the soap opera “Port Charles” for a little while? I think thats where Lucy and Scottie ended up but I’m not sure if they’re all still there.

Anyone miss Sarah Brown’s Carly and Jonathan Jackson’s Lucky? I always hate recasting of characters because it’s so hard to forget the actors who created them. Is it just me or has Rebecca Herbst (Liz) gotten scary skinny lately?
Bah, I just wish that they would focus a storyline around Lane Davies Yowser! I even liked the Dobson storyline because I got to see Alexis and Cameron together. Rebecca Herbst is pregnant, btw–don’t know when the baby is due, though, or if it will be written into the storyline (her first wasn’t).
The Laura going crazy storyline involved a re-write of Rick, Leslie’s husband who was father to Laura – it’s just too crazy and awful to retell here, frankly.
Yes, I do miss Jonathan Jackson’s Lucky, but I don’t think he’s going to come back.
Nearly all the soap actresses are very slender and petite–it’s even more apparent when you see them in person, from what I’ve read of fan events (never been to one myself nor seen a soap star in person, mind you).
