Genesis fans - coming to any of The Musical Box concerts?

If you’re not familiar with The Musical Box , they’re a group that re-creates Gabriel-era Genesis concerts (with permission). Their Midwest tour dates are this week, and I’m going to Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and Chicago. Anyone else planning to hit these dates, or see The Musical Box on this year’s tour for The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway? They’re playing quite an extensive tour (North and South America, and Europe).

A friend of mine turned me on to early Genesis last year, and my favorite album by far is The Lamb. I saw their Chicago show last year, and it was quite amazing. I’m hoping to see Selling England by the Pound whenever they play it again (next year, hopefully).

If you’re a fan, I highly encourage going. It’s a very well done production, and in addition, you’re sharing the space with a lot of other big Genesis fans. The community is very supportive – I saw Steve Hackett last weekend and they were handing out fliers. Our group was pleased to respond that we already had tickets.

I’m familiar with them, but I’ve never seen the act. Thanks for the tip - I may have to head to Cleveland next weekend.

Please do. It’s quite remarkable – Peter Gabriel apparently saw their show and couldn’t point out any inconsistencies with how the concerts were originally done! Phil Collins also performed with the band at one point and was similarly impressed.

Unfortunately their Minneapolis show was mysteriously cancelled, but I’ll be at the others.

They’re the best concert going right now. I’ve seen SEbtP and Lamb. Both were good, but I like SEbtP best.
