Clearly I meant…

unvote
vote SilverJan

And another “petulant townie” defense! :rolleyes:

If you’re town, you presumably want town to win, right?

Right now, more than ever, you need to lay down your suspicions. You’re going to die anyway, so just name off in order everybody you’re suspicious of. It’ll be phenomenally helpful to town.

Seriously, you saw how little gnarlycharlie helped us after his death, right? Learn from him. Petulantly voting for yourself does nobody any good.

If you’re town, I’ll color-code you blue on my chart and we can cross-reference all of your suspicions. We’ll be one step closer to catching scum.

As it is, you’re spiking your teammates unnecessarily.

I have to say that I am not convinced by the votes for Silver Jan. My feeling is that Silver Jan is relatively new, and in trying to learn what works and what doesn’t, has triggered alarms and pulled votes. I’ve seen this happen too often for it to be anything but a new-player tell.

Silver Jan, don’t give up on us. They’ll get used to you eventually.

I definitely don’t agree with Stanisalus’s allegation of ALE gloating made in [post=13936815]1294[/post]. I find it fairly suspicious, but suspect that I have insufficient time to review Stanislaus’s posts Today. So I’ll vote for him anyways, because I’ve seen Mafiates jump on that sort of thing before.

Stanislaus

I apologise for not doing the promised review. A job application got in the way.

I don’t think possibly wasting a lynch on pedescribe is a good idea unless it can’t be avoided. I’m hoping he comes back or Red makes a ruling.

I’ve been going back through Silver Jan’s posts, and found them incredibly difficult to parse. That might be just posting style, but she waffles all over the place and seems to vote based more on what people think of her at any given moment than honest suspicion.

Also, the self-vote thing again:

[bolding mine]

She defends the self-vote, but doesn’t like it, and then says she should have kept the vote on gnarley fot it. Now she’s doing the same thing.

With the waffling and aw-shucks style it’s just a little too much.

[strike]Vote Silver Jan[/strike] (hammer vote?)

-On review a quick vote count shows we might be at the hammer vote. I’ll hold off in case anyone else wants to chime in at the last minute, unless someone wants to point out that we aren’t at hammer. I also can’t figure out how to do strike-through on this board, but hopefully my meaning is clear.

I don’t believe we’re at hammer. My memory tells me that the hammer is 10 votes, and Silver Jan has 8. I think.

Also, I believe we have less than an hour to Dusk, so a hammer probably won’t matter too much.

Strikethrough is the del tag.

[noparse][del]I don’t want to post this after all[/del][/noparse] => [del]I don’t want to post this after all[/del].

Thanks for the tip on the del code – I’ll have to remember that.

You are correct, it’s at 8. I counted Zeriel twice with his formatting mixup.

fluiddruid might still show up with a vote, and maybe even pedescribe (thought I doubt it), so I didn’t want to end the voting early.

Vote Silver Jan

The travelers were fed up, they’d been lynching and lynching but getting nowhere closer to their goal. Till one amongst them, said “Hey I know, lets check each other’s drivers licenses! See Mine? It says Bernardo de la Paz.” To which the retort was: “What the hell is a drivers license, and How can you be possibly named La Paz, you’re obviously British!” To which he replied: “It’s okay, lynch me if you want, I can’t be killed, since I locked my soul in this robin’s egg.” Which promptly slipped out of his hand and shattered on a rock jutting out of the hot sand. Oops.

Night will end on Wednesday at 7p ET.

Sweet.

According to Wikipedia:

(that’s my guess for the source; Gaiman’s Neverwhere.)

Whew.

Hot damn, finally.

Updated color-coded list of votes coming when I get home from class. Also, awesome!

That’ll do.

Also, thank you Astral. I was starting to feel like I was talking to a brick wall.

Slight inaccuracy in the mod’s vote count - Stanislaus moved his vote from Weedy to Jan at 1294, but the mod forgot to remove his Weedy vote.

Key:
Blue = known town
Green = suspected, claimed, investigated town (explained below)
Purple = third party
Red = known scum

Deleted lines show unvotes.

Suspected or Claimed town:
Astral = Cop
Inner = Doc
Fluid = bomb detector
Mahaloth = inventor
Tom Scud = coroner

Not counted = vanilla claims.

Initial thought there is that Stanislaus’s vote at 1294 looks very Townie (or at least non-Scum); I’d expect a scum to hold back in hopes that they could stick me with the blame for a “no ties!” vote shift.

Thanks for doing that for me, Tom!

Some notes:

nesta was again the very last person to vote, and once again voted for the town bandwagon. In this particular case, the result killed town, but it was very much a “me-too!” vote, coming on the heels of 8 consecutive Silver Jan votes.

I want to address two comments from Stanislaus:

I never asked you to apologize, I was just pointing it out. Every fact, every connection we can draw, can possibly help town. I help no one by staying silent. A healthy sense of paranoia is useful in this game.

To directly respond to your comments, voting for non-lynch leaders is a viable scum strategy. The people you vote for often aren’t even close to being lynched. Without their flip, we don’t conclusively know their alignment, and thus we can’t pin anything on you. You look like a helpful townie, refusing to follow the bandwagon mentality and attempting to ferret out scum. Scum do this. Town does this. It’s worth pointing out, and people can draw their own conclusions about you from it.

Also, voting for Zeriel doesn’t prove anything about you. If you’re scum, you know Zeriel isn’t. If you’re town, you don’t know what Zeriel is, especially as your vote came on Day 1. So, once again, it’s not necessarily suspicious, but it’s worth pointing out. I don’t necessarily think Normal Phase is scum, but I still pointed out where she had voted with others in a potentially suspicious way.

It’s odd to me that you think these actions are the paragon of townie behavior.

I wouldn’t even call the idea of voting on one-offs that suspicious–it’s how you justify it and how you react to getting called on it.
