Hi everyone, nice to be able to haunt you, I was just much too tired to fight anymore last night, good luck!
Great playing with you! See you next game!
You’re just pointing things out - but everything you point out is a null tell. Town do it, Scum do it. Pointing people towards null tells doesn’t advance anything at all. It looks like analysis on first glance, but it’s just stirring the pot. If you think there’s reason to suspect me, make a case. Make a vote. But waving your hands at things I’ve done that “aren’t necessarily suspicious” in the hope that someone else will come along and turn that into a case and a vote is the essence of smudging.
Do you seriously suspect Astral, Stanislaus? Because if you don’t, then criticizing him for smudging is sort of pointless.
Is it? If he’s behaving in an anti-Town way, he needs to be called on it. And smudging is anti-Town, as well as pro-Scum.
And I’m reviewing him now. It’s very easy in this game to come to a decision on someone relatively early on and never re-examine it. But no-one’s ever completely confirmed until they’re dead, so it doesn’t do to get complacent.
Critical difference here, my man. He’s pointing out that it’s a null tell, but you’ve claimed it’s NOT a null tell.
Because there was no possible way you could have known that when you made the vote, unless you’re scum? Your defense of this vote is far, far scummier than the vote itself.
What? Null tell = not suspicious. Quite literally, it gives no reason to suspect someone. So how am I claiming it’s not a null tell?

Because you brought it up as a defense: “I’m not sure why my vote on Zeriel is meant to be suspicious” would be one thing. “I’m not sure why my vote on Zeriel is suspicious, since he is non-town”, when you couldn’t have know that fact when you made the vote, is quite another.
It’s not what you did, it’s how you defended it. You’re trying to defend your vote with facts you couldn’t have had at the time unless you’re hiding something else.
OK - having gone back and looked at Astral, I still can’t see how his Day Three early claim of a result on Maha could be any kind of scum ploy - especially as Maha’s claimed responsibility for creating the nexus on himself. So I don’t think he’s deliberately smudging people, but I also don’t think that “just mentioning things” is very helpful.

Unless I’m hiding what? You’ve claimed third-party. Are you arguing that scum would have known you were third-party? Or at least non-CARS? How would they have known this - especially on Day One?
The fact is that, as far as we now know, my Day One vote was the closest we came to getting non-Town. Of course I didn’t know at the time you were third-party. That’s what makes it such a good vote. I spotted a pattern in your votes that made me think you were hiding something. And I was right. If I’d been scum dumping a vote, I wouldn’t have looked so hard, or made a well-reasoned case. It’s **because **I didn’t know at the time you were third-party that my vote demonstrates Town motivation.
My point is exactly that–you are claiming that your vote is awesome, when there’s no damn way you could have known your vote was anything but a one-off on an unknown.
The fact that I’m openly admitted to be 3rd-party doesn’t change the fact that you didn’t know on Day One, so my status is not relevant to the quality of your Day One vote.

No, smudging is by definition not-town. Without the intent (to make someone look bad for the wrong reasons), there is no smudge, only a mistaken implication or whatever. Which I see is what you’ve since moved to, though I quibble with the specific reason you have him as likely town.
And I’m reviewing him now. It’s very easy in this game to come to a decision on someone relatively early on and never re-examine it. But no-one’s ever completely confirmed until they’re dead, so it doesn’t do to get complacent.
I think the people who didn’t vote Sister Jan, or who voted Sister Jan late, are those who are in most urgent need of review. I’m not ruling out meaningful bussing entirely, but I got zero bites on her at all from my first vote on day two up until Astral this past Day. That means people like nesta, Mhaye, Zeriel, Weedy, SisC.
Zeriel, clarify “unless you’re scum” from a few posts back. How would Stanislaus being scum mean he would know his vote on you was a good one (whereas being town he would not)? That makes no sense.

I tripped over a sentence there–the “unless he was scum” was intended to read “Because there was no possible way you could have known anything about me when you made the vote, unless you’re scum?” I had originally been trying to make an argument that he couldn’t have any knowledge, thought it was too overbroad, and converted it into a more specific one about my specific status–changing “anything about me” to “that”. And then forgot to delete the “unless” clause.
Some thoughts on Zeriel’s claim:
- I think it’s very likely that he received his posted PM from Red, though it could be a cover role.
- I’m trying to think whether I think he’s more likely to be third party or scum if he’s using a cover role; my gut reaction is “third party”, but I don’t know if I can justify that. (One element of that is that Wednesday from the same fictional universe would be a perfect fit as a win-stealing third party).
- If his powers are as written, I think it’s very unlikely that he’s the only third party - why make Astral a “weak Cop” if his power didn’t work on the only third party anyway?
- If Zeriel IS a PFK, he really isn’t Town’s main problem at the moment.
Think this is right:

Stan, why did you color Zeriel purple in your voting chart? You ignored all other claims when colorizing it. We as a town don’t know for a fact that Zeriel is a third-party.
I was wondering that myself. The man seems to be utterly convinced of my identity, which makes me suspicious even though I can’t think of any reason he’d know it.
After the death of the Marquis, the group slept sound in their bags. The crickets chirped, and a hot wind blew across the camp. When the group was awoke, they found the littered parts of R. Daneel Olivaw strewn around the camp.
Astral Rejection aka R. Daneel Olivaw is dead and was a member of the Consolidated Alliance of Raftdwelling Slumlords.
With 13 alive, the hammer is set at 9. Otherwise Day 5 will end on Monday at 7pm ET.
So Maha is either a Godfather or Town (and given the oddity of the roles so far, I wouldn’t rule out a Godfather/inventor).
