George H.W. Bush to vote for Hillary

My far-far-Left friends would say this proves that Clinton is in the pocket of Big Business. They’re voting for Jill Stein even if it means Trump wins.

I’ll third this (in the interest of data I am definitely anti-Hillary).

IMO Bush senior backing Hillary can (and may ) be seen as Hillary being part of the “establishment”.

I mean she is SO much part of the establishment that even her mortal (establishment!) enemies are backing her over the non establishment dude.

This may well be as helpful to the cause as Obama getting the Nobel peace prize.

Many people have said Hillary Clinton is the most qualified person to run for president in many years. I would posit she is second, albeit a close second, to Bush 41.

I hated his dirty Atwater led 1988 campaign, but he was a much better president than Reagan or his son.

When was Ron Jr. president?

I can see this backfiring if true, nothing smacks more (rightly or wrongly) of ‘establishment interests’ than a demonstration like this.

I’m not sure about this though I see your point. I had an interesting conversation with my dad today. He’s 84 and hasn’t voted for a D since 1976. He was planning to not vote for POTUS at all this time but is now rethinking that because of this news. Same for my brother, who has never voted D. And his wife. My sister and her husband were already thinking they would vote for HRC but I suspect now will be certain to. First time for them to vote for a Dem for POTUS too. If they do I would imagine their kids who are adults will as well.

And you wanna know the best part? They are all evangelicals who live in Texas. If this is enough to sway them then I’m curious about the potential broader effect.

Had a similar experience when my lifer old man told me he was voting for Obama, because McCain was too much of a war-monger. Reminded him of Curtis LeMay, whom he despised. Light flowed from the ceiling, surrounding me, bells were ringing…

Very disappointed to come to and find out I had merely fainted and hit my head on the coffee table. Still, totally worth it!
