George Takei: not dead

The front page of the Washington Post online right now has a black & white picture of George Takei, looking pensive. That’s usually SOP for them when someone has passed away.

Thankfully, it’s just a story about him (and the WW2 Japanese internment).

Whew!

You know, it amazes me that people from 1960’s TV shows look so old (but not dead)

Oh, my!

What’s the status of Generalissimo Francisco Franco?

I’ll let you know as soon as he appears on the front page of today’s Washington Post.

What a coincidence that you should ask because he just received another star. He is now Major Generalissimo Francisco Franco.

Owen: Momma! You’re alive!

Aside to police officers: Old people: you have to reassure them.

Well, Takei is only 82 and seems relatively fit, should still have some good years left. I saw him live on stage in Allegiance a few years ago and he seemed full of energy.

Strange how nowadays “only 82” is not that old with so many living into their late 80s or 90s. Things have changed in terms of life spans and expectancies, the first funeral I remember attending (in 1980) was for a relative who was 82, and many people commented on what an advanced age that was.

heck, even to this day I look at my first grade yearbook and the eighth-graders look like they could be college students.

But Abe Vigoda is.
