Looks like Republican Brian Kemp leads Democrat Stacey Abrams by less than half a percent in the race for governor (3% margin of error).

Kemp, Georgia’s secretary of state, holds the support of 45.3 percent of likely 2018 voters in the survey, slightly ahead of the 44.9 percent supporting Abrams, a former minority leader in the state’s House of Representatives. Some 7.6 percent of voters say they are undecided, while just under 3 percent say they will support a Libertarian candidate Ted Metz.

The article goes on to say that Georgia’s disapproval rating for Trump is at 51%, and that Abrams would be the first black female governor in US history.

Georgia has been quite the tease for Democrats the last few cycles. Given the realities of Deep South voting(whites vote 80-90% GOP, blacks 90% Democratic), I suspect it’ll be close but a fairly comfortable GOP win. Predictit is far from sure though, calling it 61% chance of a GOP win, 42% Democratic.
