Georgia senate runoff elections. Let’s debate and make predictions

Me-OW!

Good article!

This one also gives me hope:

Republicans still have Bradley’s vote. But there are other people, she said, who may throw up their hands in this chaos, vote Democratic, or skip the election.

The GOP can’t afford to lose any votes right now. Georgia’s runoff elections on Jan. 5 will decide control of the U.S. Senate, as GOP incumbents David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler face Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, respectively. And if the GOP loses those seats, handing Democrats total control of Washington, there’s a risk that the divisions that Georgia has seen since November might intensify throughout the party.

I would love to be proved wrong, but my gut is that the record-setting early voting turnout in this race is a sign of Republicans energized by “the steal” turning out in droves. I guess we’ll see

I’m inclined to agree, but as I posted upthread, I would be delighted to be proven wrong.

I cannot fathom the logic of the conspiracy-minded but I sometimes try for fun. Aren’t early Republican votes just more of an opportunity for those votes to be lost or changed by Biden’s fraud ninjas? Remember, Biden (and by extension the Democrats since this will give them Senate control) has an invisible, undetectable, untraceable method for winning the election by trucking in ballots at the last minute and/or changing the mail ins. The Republican candidates lose any which way. If I was a Republican in Georgia I would stay as far away from it all as I could. After all, the Democrats can’t steal your vote if you don’t vote, right?!?!

If they vote in large enough numbers, they will break the algorithm and Trump will win!

It worked in 2016 when crooked Hilary tried to rig it but still lost

That sort of thing.

According to Nate Cohn, it’s actually better news for Democrats:

It’s a higher share of the black vote in early voting than was in the general which is looking like more Warnock and Ossoff voters.

Trafalgar Group has this in their latest poll:

TOTAL (with leans)

David Perdue 50.2%
Jon Ossoff 47.5%
Undecided 2.3%

Kelly Loeffler 52.2%
Raphael Warnock 45.5%
Undecided 2.3%

Plus some more bad news for Warnock with the release of this video:

My prediction: Perdue wins by 3. Loeffler wins by 5.

Despite correctly predicting Trump’s 2016 victory, isn’t that the main Trump-leaning polling/surveying company (well, other than Rasmussen), whose polling, since then, has been increasingly less accurate?
The pjmedia article seems like a he/said/she said about him driving away from her, running over her foot, yet - examination showed no injuries, so - a nothingburger.
I hope you’re not basing your prediction on either criterion.

By a former GOP Congressman, but pretty even-handed:

They weren’t particularly accurate before the 2020 election, and they did really poorly there. Prior to the November election, they had predicted 75% of contests correctly. The average pollster on 538’s list is at 79% and shitty Rasmussen is at 78%. Underperforming Rasmussen before 2020 isn’t really something to put on your resume.

As for 2020?

Michigan

Pennsylvania

Georgia

Arizona

Nevada

Florida Yay, got one right! Too bad they actually called this one closer than their Georgia mistake.

I have no fucking clue who will win on January 5th, but neither does Trafalgar.
