German translation

On a hard core goth rock CD I have there’s a picture of this lady dressed as a vampire and wearing a crown of thorns. Beneath it, there’s a phrase reading “DIE BLUTGRAFIN HEROINE DES GRAUENS.” Using altavista, I’ve managed to work out that it means “the blood[something] heroine of horrors.”

So what’s “blutgrafin” mean?

Graf is count. Grafin is countess. Blut is blood. Ergo, “Blood Countess.” I don’t think there can be much of a good translation.

I would loosely translate it as, “Vampira, Horror Heroine.”

Okay, something’s not right because that was supposed to say

and there was supposed to be a  after it.

That “Horror Heroine” was what I had written before I changed “Vampirella” to “Vampira.” Very strange.
