Snoooopy, I think that some video stores have compilations tapes you can rent. I have to admit that some of the episodes were quite boring (in fact, there was an episode titled “Boring”) but the best one was “Bath Day”. Very gross, but very funny! And one of the Absolutely Fabulous chicks makes an appearance in one episode when the boys have a party. Rick finds a tampon in her purse and thinks its a present and he unwraps it and puts it in someones drink. ha ha!
British show with the four or five guys that share a house?
Great characters, hilarious gags. One character, in wanting to secure dinner plates to the table, nails the plates and table to his legs. And another character, horribly bloated from too many beans, is convinced he’s pregnant. He “delivers” and someone lights a celebration cigar… Up goes the house.
From what I understand, you need to relicense the songs when someone new picks up syndication. Either REM refused or else the cost was more than USA wanted to spend on an old syndicated show few people remember (though I loved it). My scant understanding on the topic comes mainly from reading someone’s long rant on a WKRP episode on Nick at Nite where they left out the Elton John song “Tiny Dancer” in an episode where the song was essential to the plot. The guy wrote to Nick at Nite bitching about it, NaN wrote back saying they had to relicense all the songs and whoever you license songs from (Elton John? The record label?) refused, the guy wrote back complaining some more and NaN politely suggested that maybbe the guy was a little too concerned about his WKRP] episodes than what is healthy.
I would love it if some network would re-run that awful Logan’s Run TV series that aired the year after the movie came out.
And when I say “awful,” I mean it was awful! Awful awful awful awful awful! Even the title theme music was awful – it sounded like the disco version of Princess Leia’s theme, only worse, if such a thing is possible. And that “stun” setting on their flameguns! What were they thinking?! And no pretty crystals embedded in their palms, either! (How did the Sandmen know you’d turned 30?!) It was so awful it was laughable, which makes it good!
Ooooh, The State too. I love the sketch where they’re on top of a roof, and have guns and are all dressed in black. There were cops down on the ground and wanted to know their demands.
Cops: What are you demands?
Robbers: We want exactly one hundred dollars.
Cops: $100?
Robbers: Thats right, split five times for the each of us. I want all fives.
Other robber: I want three fives and five singles, cause I gotta take the bus hime and I need change.
The Adventures of Pete and Pete was the coolest show ever.
I don’t think Nickeleodeon shows reruns but I’m too repelled by the crap on the channel now to see if they ever show Pete and Pete.
