Get me out of the house in the MMP

Holy crap!! How the hell is turmeric going to help at all in a situation like this? I’m so sorry - I hope it feels better and that you can get better care.

Roxy has gone home. Cornbread is baking, cauliflower is next in the oven, and ham will be cooked on top of the stove, then supper will be ready.

Chillage tonight, sewing and furniture moving tomorrow. Weekend? Who knows?

Um, Sunny, did the docs look a bit like… these guys?

I wound up uncomfortably squished in the car for what wound up as an hour long meeting. At least the boiler’s now working again- I wasn’t bothered about the temperature, but it’ll be nice to not have to listen to those fan heaters any more.

Afternoon all. Did get out of the house and bought a couple pair of gym shorts, then got my hair cut and dropped off my saved plastic bags at the Wal-Mart. Then looked at a couple stores for some tennis-style slip-on shoes and when I couldn’t find the ones I wanted, came home and ordered them from Amazon (the ones I have, from And1, are apparently not produced anymore). So I have, for me at least, been productive.

May reward myself by going out to Dinner; the West End Grill advertises that they have a great meatloaf; I’m willing to test that out…

Sunny, add me to the list of people not impressed by your doctors; if anything close to it happens again, get thee to a hospital and some reasonably professional folks. Take care.

Cookie, so let me get this straight; if it fails right away, you have to pay, but if it lasts 90 days they’ll pay? Is it me or is that pretty dumb?

gotti, glad the ring was in the last place you looked; seriously, you didn’t panic and retraced your steps, so it was likely you’d find it.

FCM, I don’t have migranes myself, but I used to get headaches so bad I’d throw up, and if SIL has them like that, I feel for the man. Good on ya for taking on Roxy for a couple hours.

shoe, haven’t had a professional massage since…probably the 90’s. Hope it helped/

OK, onward to whatever comes next. All y’all take care.

Howdy Y’all! We lazed about all day. However, I did spend some quality time with the church janitor Junior Warden binder. Some routine maintenance stuff is due soon, so I’ll need to be makin’ some calls to get all that done. Sup has been ingested and laziness continues.

gotti glad you found your ring.

Sunny I shall pile on with the hie thee to medical attention folks.

Cookie that’s strange. Hopefully you can get your washer fixed soon.

Nuts glad the boiler is fixed.

Flyboy glad the wine is re-stocked.

Glad MrsFlyboy is on the mend.

I’ll have a Woodford Reserve and water nellie. I think that Whoa Nellie’s would be a most excellent name for a pub.

Glad you found your ring gotti.

{{{sunny}}}

Irked a little late today and likely will tomorrow. That’s much better than all of the OT in December.

It’s friggin’ cold here. Nelson and I are both suiting up when we go out. It’s supposed to get colder yet.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Evening all. Meatloaf at the West End Grille has been tried and…not bad, but definitely third in the Meatloaf standings behind Logan’s Roadhouse and Metro Diner. On the other hand, realized I hadn’t had my beer for the month so had a Coors Light with it, so that worked out well.

Now for readin’ and internettin’. All y’all have good nights (and for our Brits, good mornings).

When I had this service in the past, they came immediately. No 30-day waiting period at all. I would suspect that a lot of people took advantage of that. Call up when your stove craps out, get the coverage, get it fixed right away, cancel the coverage. Now they require a 1-year obligation at $50/mo. If you cancel early, they whack you for $150.

I planned my route and went for my walk: five miles, and no near-misses. Mumpers, kindly as you are, you probably have no idea what it’s like out there for pedestrians. Most drivers are courteous and reasonably cautious, but do enough walking, and the few who aren’t are a real menace. I can only guess there are a lot of folks out there with built-up rage and no place to vent it. A pedestrian in a crosswalk slows 'em down, dammit. Why should they have to put up with that? Then, too, many people assume people who walk don’t have cars because they can’t afford them, and they can’t afford them because they’re not willing to put in an honest day’s work for an honest dollar, goldurnit. Thus I find myself aligned with people whose educational level and opportunities are not those I’ve enjoyed. Very humbling.

sunny, please check in and let us know how you’re doing. As you can see, we care. And in the Broken Record Department, please don’t give up pushing for the help you need.

cookie, that seems like a pretty f-d up system. If there were a lot of people calling in for help and then canceling, it seems like that indicates there are problems with the product.

Got a packet from the Prosecutor’s office. The guy who stole my bike was ordered to pay restitution… $20/month. So he’ll pay it off in about 7 years. If he pays. Mrs. L.A. read the documents. Seems like he steals a vehicle every other year. Bonehead. He’s lost his right to vote, and he’s on work-release.

Thank you everyone.

I’m going to see a doctor tomorrow. I expect this time I’ll get an exam and then get told to get a bunch of tests. I hope that they’ll help with pain control while we try to figure out what’s happening.

flyboy did you get your bike back?

Tonight my daughter made dinner for the family. It was scallops with a lemon caper sauce. It turned out great. We’re setting up the kitchen so that I can work while sitting, and the kids will be doing a lot more of the work. I think it will be fun, cooking together.

Whining to you guys shamed me into getting some stuff done: trash taken out, both litter boxes cleaned thankyouverymuch, and the designated rat crew moved into nice, clean bedding. They had some pups with 'em, who enjoyed exploring the new paper towel rolls and stuff I put in for them. Rodents are so entertaining to watch.

Then I invited myself over to my friend’s place, so we could marinade in her hot tub a while. A loooooong while. Finally, my shoulders feel all the way better!

Unfortunately, I came home and crashed which felt terrific except now it’s like five till midnight and I’m back awake.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Time to go heave!

Morning, mumpers! It’s looking quite pleasant out there at the moment, the weather app says “Well, look on the bright side, at least it’s not hot as fuck outside” and promises me 7C/45F up to 10C/50F and mostly sunny. I’ll accept that, it’s not bad for a Friday although we have dire warnings for snow over the weekend.

gotti thanks for the stretchy advice! I do most of those stretches already, and the workout lady is a proper qualified instructor so we have warm-up and cool-down/stretch tracks at the beginning and end. But a bit of extra stretching wouldn’t go amiss. I am a bit more comfortable today so I’m hoping it’ll improve if I’m careful. I also think I spend far too much time sitting here working when I should be moving more frequently. Also, glad to hear you found your ring without getting into trouble!

nut glad to hear the boiler is fixed and the fan heaters can go away for a while. We have double-digit temperatures so the hoodie is off again today!

Sunny sorry to hear about the weird advice from the medic, I know turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and has been of some benefit to arthritis sufferers but it’s not something I’d expect to hear from a medical professional.

OK, better to and do some of this work stuff I get paid for…

Woke at 4:45, but I didn’t bother trying to sleep since I have to leave at 6:15 to fetch the RoxStar. SIL is still dealing with his migraine and he didn’t want to deal with a toddler, too. So I need to figure out how to entertain her while doing all the stuff I need to get done today. I fear TV will loom large in the equation.

FCD woke also, and now he’s all crabby, even tho he should be able to fall back to sleep. I heard his closet door squeeking, which tells me he’s up and getting dressed. He’s going to be a joy today… Oh well…

It’s 23-frosty-degrees this morning and not supposed to get above freezing today - needless to say, we won’t be playing outside. And I’ll have to get a fire going in the basement to kill the chill down there. Weather guy last night was saying we could get up to 5" of stoopit snow in my little peninsula region by Tuesday - guess I should get my snow shovel and boots on standby. Dammit.

So, yeah, Happy Firday. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 30 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 56 and N.O.S. for the day. I shall betake myself over to the church house this mornin’ to deal with or figure out how to deal with, some stuff. After that, who knows. We shall either swipe The General’s sup or order majik intartoobz pizza for sup. So, there is a major decision to be made!

Nellie I like Whoa Nellie’s for a pub name. I am also very mindful of pedestrians. I’m nice like that.

Sunny hope the doc can help you find out what’s goin’ on.

To those of you experiencin’ or about to experience mega snow, better thee than me.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, woe of woe, and bother of bothers, I suppose I shall need to purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Fortunately jeans and a sweatshirt will work well for the tasks at hand.

Happy Firday Y’all!

I woke up at 3 a.m. and after an hour of listening to the guy downstairs snore (Yes, he even snores loudly.), I gave it up, got myself a cup of herbal tea, and read for awhile. I didn’t go to bed early, so I have no idea why sleep left me stranded like that. At least I was stranded in a warm bed.

Moooom, good luck with the Rock Star. One day of TV won’t hurt her.

Swampy, I knew you’d be a mindful motorist.

I don’t know where I’ll walk today. I’ve been everywhere within 3 or 4 miles. It’s too dark and cold to even think about it now.

Chilly here but no snow forecast for a couple more days. In the low teens now, supposed to get into the upper 20s.

This has been your western Mitten Weather Forecast.

Morning all. Got up at 7:30am and immediately stripped the bed so I could start the sheets washing; today is Laundry Day, and probably at least 5 loads need to go through the washer/dryer, so that should occupy the morning and early afternoon. Only 28F now and getting to 51F later, so indoors will be nice.

No soccer tomorrow, been cancelled for reasons unknown, so will have to think of something else to do for Saturday.

shoe, glad you got tubbed and shoulders are better…and that’s the problem about getting that relaxed, you want to go to sleep NOW and it messes with your schedule. Take care.

Sunny, sounds like family is pitching in, that’s good and hoping the Doc can give you a better diagnosis. Gere, take {{{ }}} out of petty cash…

flyboy, not a cheap bike; guessing here you’ll get about $60-80 back before he disappears again…

nellie, don’t walk as much as you do, but I do walk through Wal-Mart parking lots and…actually, most folks there are polite. Who’d a thunk it?

FCM, somedays you have fun and somedays the fun has you…take care.

Everyone have a good Firday.

Maybe not her, but my head is about to explode from the inane kids’ shows she loves!

We have played piano and looked at her Highlights magazine and she got to rassle with FCD for a bit. She also helped me push around the vacuum cleaner, so it’s been more than just TV.

The problem with eating breakfast before 6 - it’s just after 9 and I’m hungry. Maybe an apple?
