Get me out of the house in the MMP

Feel free to just send it to my corner of the world instead. We wouldn’t notice. Why should two regions be under siege? Might as well, seems like you get way more than your share of floods after all.

Glad to hear you were able to get a doctor’s appt. some things just don’t work with telemedicine, like your stuff. (I do like telemedicine for lots of things though, don’t get me wrong). I hope you get some pain help especially. I find for me that constant pain just wears down my spirit and then everything turns to sh*t. So, here’s hoping!

FCM, look for Masha and the Bear on Netflix. My toddler grandchild loves it and it’s not incredibly loud and annoying. It’s also just pleasant and warm to watch.

Sunny, yeah, that urgent care advice would have had me fuming. I hope your doctor visit provides some real results.

It’s about 38 degrees and gray outside with a 50% chance of precipitation. Up here in the PNW that really means about 85%, lol. At any rate, I need to get my steps/miles in, so I shall don workout clothes soon and head over to the park with the nature trail loop. I used to walk around the neighborhood, and while it’s certainly easier to just start my walk right outside my door, I’m sick of the cars and noise. It’s quieter in the park, and I can put on my earbuds and listen to music if I want and not worry about some car coming up behind me. I want to get at least 10 miles in, but will be happy with 8 or 9. I tend to push myself too hard sometimes, to the point where I feel like puking, and then I am useless for hours. I don’t do that to myself anymore. I will push to the point of discomfort, but not puking.

The kids and grandkids are coming to visit tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to it! I love playing with grandkids and I am excited to take Zoe (the granddaughter) to the park I discovered. Adam, at 4 months old, is a little young to understand the fun of a park. They are calling for rain tomorrow, so we’ll see if we can actually do the park, but if not, we have lots of fun in the house too. I will need get Zoe provisions (fruit chews, and a couple of other things), along with some dinner provisions. I’m sure we’ll all do some VR too.

VR is such fun! Who would have thought?! There are immersive experiences that are quite beautiful, lots of fun and often quite beautiful games, and exercise options too. I am a huge fan of Beat Saber which is done to music. I know it sounds nerdy, but really if you can’t go out and exercise, this provides a good opportunity to do it AND I’m having so much fun, it doesn’t even feel like exercise or work. You feel it after, lol! But, it’s a good feeling.

Well, full daylight is just about here. I need to get my butt in gear and get to steppin’!

Yes, in September. (It was stolen early July.)

Actually it is a cheap bike. Were I to have sold it, I might have gotten a kilobuck for it – if I was lucky. $700 or $800 is probably more in line with the market. I had to buy replacements for several parts that were stolen. Since the thief spray-painted it, it needs to be re-painted. The cost of the parts and paint I’ve already bought, plus the estimated cost to strip it to the frame so I can paint it, is over $1,600.

I’ve tried that a few times in the past, but she’s more interested in Cocomelon and Gigantasaurus. At least we’re getting a break from Word Party - for a while, that’s all she wanted to watch.

For now, tho, she’s napping - huzzah!! And the living room is ready for the new furniture. Plus I’ve taking the slip covers off the old recliner and they’re in the wash being de-crudded. Silence temporarily reigns!

Found out my mom is getting her first COVID shot today - another huzzah!! She’s 87, so definitely in a risk group, altho she mostly stays home. Still, it’s good news. I get shot tomorrow.

OK, time for quiet chillage…

Good news about your mom’s upcoming vaccination, FCM! And yay for you - the more the better!

Throughout the course of writing this short post, I managed to inhale a plateful of Totinos pizza rolls. I should probably be ashamed of myself, but hey - they were brunch. And I’m gonna bake some kale later, too.

I can’t believe how much of my time is consumed by thinking about food. I just threw a veggie curry into the slow cooker for dinner tonight and am already contemplating how I can easily get my hands on some wine for my zoom call with friends tonight. I’ve still got some beer in the fridge from October, and some diet cokes. I’m assuming the latter is still good, but not sure about the beer. How long does that last anyway?

Zoe loves Cocomelon too. She used to call it “Bus”. I don’t know why.

Hurray for vaccinations! It will be a good long while before I am eligible according to my state’s phase finder.

Oops - I just told my boss that she’s “like the godfather but way more supportive.” She just knows everybody, darnit. Fortunately she took it as a compliment. Man, I’m glad it’s Friday.

Wheels on the Bus? Is that big on Cocomelon? Or maybe another stream? They all look the same after a while!

Yesterday was a commuting day. I’d assumed that Mrs. L.A. would have leftover pizza in the oven. Not that I particularly wanted another carb bomb, but that’s what I thought dinner would be. It turns out she was tempted by a commercial and had a Burger King bacon cheeseburger. She only ate half of it. I avoid carbohydrates as much as possible, but the prospect of half of a fast-food burger was too tempting. I finished off the other half of my Mediterranean salad from Wednesday, and the proffered burger. It was delicious. It reminded me that Burger King’s mayonnaise always tasted sour.

Mrs. L.A. wanted scrambled eggs this morning, so she cooked a couple. I made a sandwich on low-carb toast with margarine, Vegemite, and a slice of American cheese.

The MMP moves a bit fast for me these days, but rest assured I’m keeping abreast of everybody’s medical and other issues and I wish you all the best.

Today is the last day of my “vacation” and I’m trying to do as little as possible. I got the new chair and ottoman assembled yesterday; took about an hour and a half, a good deal of sweat, and only a modicum of cursing. It’s an imitation Eames chair like this. We are happy with it.

All the sofa pieces arrived, but not the fabric covers for them. I called to make sure the covers were on their way and was told “about the second week of February.” So now we have ten large boxes cluttering up the guest room for three weeks or so. I suggested they should coordinate their shipments better and the guy said, “Usually we do.” He did apologize and was super nice, so I’m not all that mad. First world problems, I guess.

Sheesh. Only two and a half days in hospital, and I come home to 125 unread messages in this thread? I’ll get through them eventually…

We have recliners! I’ll do pics tomorrow. Roxy has gone home. Domino’s made supper.

Looks like the mattress topper that was coming today will come tomorrow instead. Maybe. Supposedly, my basement TV will be delivered today - it went out for delivery before 9 this morning and the site says it will arrive before 8. That gives them 3 hours.

Plan for the evening is mega-chillage. Tho I may walk, since I didn’t walk yesterday. Roads are being treated in this county in anticipation of a “snow event” - whatever that may be. We shall see.

That half-burger last night put me into the burger mood. I told Mrs. L.A., 'It’s Friday, so it’s Mexican Food Night. But Bay Breeze has burgers and beer. (That’s a lot of ‘b’s.)’ She asked if they have ‘outdoor’ dining. I don’t think they do. They may only be take-out during the shut-down. Later, she said we could go to Paso del Norte early (so that we can get a seat in their ‘outdoor’ dining area). So it looks like Mexican food and margaritas tonight.

Preparing to blow up the church, are you?

No, no, no. Dip whole strawberries into maple syrup, then dip them into the cream.

Nitpick: If they were rational, they wouldn’t be phobias.

Your life is much too exciting for me. I don’t think I could handle doing that many things in one day.

Sounds like our Angel…

Just hope it’s not alien birds…

My dreams tend to be about the Navy – usually a boat, but sometimes the tender and Scotland – or Sears. Sometimes I even manage to mix Sears and the Navy…

I love this! I’m going to fo my damnest to remember to reassure myself. Yah need that when your a grandma to a 3 year old.

I sent the illustrated explanation to mooom already via FB messenger but you are soooo right!! I bet my last cheese stick that this is the reason.

Oops. I FB pm’d the wrong Mumper. Maybe FCM can forward it to you from her FB messenger app.

Short answer: the Cocomelon kid’s YouTube channel has 39 versions of the “wheels on bus” songs and seemingly endless stories, thymes and songs connected to “wheels on the bus” content.

My 3 year granddaughter could not get enough of it and therefore I got fathoms too much it. Such is tyranny.

Home again, home again, jiggety-jig.

Snacking on some chips’n’salsa while I contemplate something more substantial for dinner. I have stuff. Just don’t feel like standing long enough to fix even some potstickers.

Expect a call from ATF soon. No doubt the internet surveillance system’s algorithms re: domestic terrorism will pick these words up and come knocking at your door. That sound be amusing! Invite them in and disarm them with your charm.

Definitely going to do this next time strawberries are in the house. Yum to a factor of 3.

I actually know better grammar and this, honest. See, “I’m going to do my…” and “when you’re a grandma…”.

And it doesn’t help my typing or my proofreading that I have the wrong glasses on. Guess I should quit being lazy and go find a pair of my good ones with bifocal correction. Sigh…I guess I could use the break to grab some food and drink.
