Getting new puppies

My daughter/housemate’s friend has a litter of pups and we are smitten. Roxy, the mama dog, is a malamute/shepherd mix and the purported father is a Golden Retriever. Our girls come home in a couple of weeks. My girl loves to sleep in the flowers; my daughter’s pup prefers to sleep on her back and get belly rubs. We haven’t chosen names yet, though Luka is a front-runner for my pup.

I’m paying part of Roxy’s spay fee so there will be no future litters. And of course our girls will be spayed as soon as they are old enough. We are very excited.

When I see a thread about puppies/kittens, I always disconnect the Squeetron and Cute-O-Metre to prevent catastrophic overload.

That just leaves the mental stress to deal with.

Good on you for the spaying part! I have a habit of doing the internal groan when I hear about random puppies, but you’re doing right by them. They really are darned cute! Thanks for giving a good home and being a guardian for the mama dog. Many years of happy companionship for you all!

One of the blonds also has a look that to me says smart, strong and fun.
