Am I the only one that reads “Giardia” whenever I see her name?
She peppers her cooking segments with little montages of close-ups that are basically porn with different equipment. I can’t prove it, but I know I saw one such montage included her thoroughly flouring a vertically-held rolling pin–even though a rolling pin was not being used in the dish she was cooking.
I have new respect for her, though, since I heard about her demo at the Kentucky Proud Food Show a few years ago when she pwned UK basketball hero turned moronic state Secretary of Agriculture Ritchie Farmer. He came on stage to help her and she was talking about cooking with arugula. He was obviously clueless, so she asked him straight out if he had ever heard of arugula and he admitted that he hadn’t. She just stared at him for a minute, then said “You’re the Secretary of Agriculture, right?”

Because it fires up your desire when you watch it but the vast majority of viewers would never actually do something like that?
Indeed. Here is a video of said rolling pin (at about 2:12), altho not vertically floured. I hope that dough never gets rolled. I could watch her cook for me every day, and hope the food never gets finished.
She’s not clueless about the affect she has. In one of her interviews on the Food Network, she said that she was shocked when she found out that college guys were lusting after her during her college appearances. She said her attitude now is “meh.”
