On an episode of Top Gear, the guys are racing a train, motorcycle and car along the A1 road. Along the way, on a hill, there appears to be a rather large statue of a man with wings.

What is it?
I wasn’t going to watch a video, so googled “highway a1 angel statue” and got info on a contemporary angel statue called Angel of the North (wiki page) that overlooks the A1. That it?
I don’t know the answer, but the scene where an exhausted, soot-covered Jeremy collapses in the pub as he sucks down a pint is one of my favorite Top Gear moments ever.
Yup…thats it:D
It’s a reasonably safe bet that any piece of metal human-form public art you see in Britain is something to do with Antony Gormley. Metal men are very much his thing.
Half-pint, call hisself a real man ![]()
