I have a Mac and I am running MS Explorer 5. Occasionally (about once a day) when my browser goes to a page with a .gif image on it, instead of displaying it as part of the page, it instead opens up Photoshop and displays the image there. This does not happen all the time with all .gif images. Usually the image involved is nothing more than a tiny dot. I’ve looked through my file helpers and have found nothing that lists photoshop as the file helper. Any idea what’s going on?
Hmm…what Mac OS are you running? OS 9.x, OS X? I confess, this is a weird one.
I often get Photoshop opening up graphic files, but it’s because they have the “Photoshop” icon. I don’t quite know why your Mac is doing that. What I usually do when I get an undesireable program opening a file is to drag the file to the alias of the program that I want to have open it. Yeah, a hassle, I know…
Vengence for f*ing QuickTime opening PNGs on its own on Windows?
…
Sorry, I’m useless.
