Gimme English words with 3 or more vowels running consecutively

Never mind. I looked 'em both up. Pretty good.

I’m hoping for more fours. Thanks, Left Hand of Dorkness. (What can we call you for short?)

Did you give yourself a Dirty Sanchez afterwards? Photographic evidence is in demand here.

Another threesome: Quoin
More foursomes: Aqueous, Obsequious

I can’t help you because, you see, I just shampooed the carpet. I didn’t want to leave a stain.

Another three:

quoit.

Do you need these for any specific reason, BarnOwl?

Hawaiian

Ah, here’s the link for you. American Language Review:

euouae: 6 vowels, no consonants

A contrived English word admittedly, but one that we use reasonably often within our church choir.

Really? It’s not in my online dictionary. What does it mean?

It’s a Catholic liturgical music term. It represents the sequence of notes in each of the different psalm tones that are sung on the syllables at the end of a psalm: saeculorum amen.

Ah. So a modern translation would be something like “Shoo be do be do be do da de”.

Actually, “Sequoia” has the distinction of being the shortest word in the English language that uses all five vowels!

In common with the more arcane aerious, meaning airy, which also carries the distinction of having its vowels in alphabetical order.

Curses! Foiled again!

(Nice find, Chez.)

I don’t get it.

The fact is, my old college buddy kind of collects the words, not avidly, just notes such words as he sees them.

So I asked him if it’d be ok if I threw the idea out to some very smart people that I “know” and he said fine. He and his wife live up in NH, and it happens they went on a trip to Delaware, and just this morning stopped by here on their way back home.

During the visit, I showed him this thread. He was very impressed (as I knew he would be), and got a laugh out of Little Nemo’s eieio, just as I did.

You all won over a new member. Thanks very much.

Any good sentances made up of only such words?

Since there are no articles, conjunctions, or prepositions that meet the criteria, it would be rather tricky to get too complicated.

“Obsequious Hawaiian quietly squealed…”

Meh.
