ok so i’ve, um, just shaved my pubic region, and i have an attack of the itchies. does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent itching when shaving?
Don’t shave. Clip it short instead.
Why shave?
Maybe if I had a picture I could be more effective in helping you. J/k
If you keep doing it over and over your skin will build a tolerance to shaving. However if the itching continues too long see a doc. I got a terrible rash from doing that.
I am sure you have tried aloe…
Your rash could be resulting from a multitude of things. Shaving your pubic hair could result in razor bumps (if your razor’s old, that could also be the culprit). You could be using an irritating detergent, or even sweat could be reaping the rash.
Try to keep that area cool and dry (sleep without underwear and every time you shave, use a new razor). Also, try to use unscented detergents when washing your underwear, as this will lessen the likelihood of this uncomfortable occurrence.
What lee said is also true. You get the same benefits of shaving from trimming…
be brave - wax. :x
Since you’re looking for suggestions, I’ll move this thread to IMHO.
Try GoldBond cream and powder.
I’m not sure of GoldBond has talc in it, which is supposedly no good for your nether-regions. I would suggest Vagasil powder instead (made especially for “down there”).
thanks guys i think it’s a combo of all the nonos…old razor, scented detergent, and sweat.
how much does waxing cost?
Don’t just get waxed anywhere. Some places know how to do it and some don’t. Generally, the ones that do know are a bit more expensive. I pay $56 here in Northern California (not including tip, which of all services, you should definitely give for this one). But I don’t know how much it costs elsewhere. Oh yeah, the $56 (plus $10 tip) is for a Brazilian bikini wax. If that’s not what you’re looking for, it will be cheaper, about $20 here. But if you are looking for a Brazilian bikini wax, find a place that has it on the price list. You should not have to be covert to ask about it.
