Girls... Would you ever date a guy a lot younger than you?

Guys… Would you ever date a girl a lot older than you?

…is this wrong?

There is a 21 year old guy that occasionally does work for me. He has been dating a 48 year old woman. His view is that women his age are all “head cases”. It probably doesn’t hurt that the woman owns a couple of bars.

The picture linked in the OP shows what appear to be male children embracing adult women. That relationship would be a felony in my state.

The image is from Awkward Family Photos. It’s brothers and sisters, not people dating.

Are the boys Vulcans? Or part vampire bat?

I thought it was from a mother-and-son banquet or some such event.

OK, but given the question posed in the OP, the picture still pings the yuck-o-meter.

Yeah, but what are they? 18 and 12? That’s just wrong, whatever the gender.

Women I know who date guys even 2-3 years younger get called ‘cougars’ and it’s pretty damn annoying. I don’t know what they’d get if there was a 10-year age gap. Probably a lot of, ‘Oh, she’s rich and he’s in the closet.’

One of my best friends began dating a wonderful woman when he was 29 and she was 39. They have been married for 8 years now, have two wonderful kids and it’s just a nice, normal relationship.

At one of her high school reunions, when her classmates found out about the age difference, they spontaneously voted her winner of the “Cradle Robber” award

I have recently gone out on a few dates with a woman 12 years younger than me (I’m 39). I’m looking forward to bringing her to a picnic with that same couple.

 Quite a few of my friends and relatives have that sort of age gap. My SIL is about 5 years older than her husband, my other SIL probably around 8 years older. The first SIL’s best friend is married to a lovely guy 10 years younger than she is. All have been happily married for at least 10 years.

When I was in college, I dated a couple of guys a year younger than I was. I got married at 22, so didn’t have much of a chance to date hugely younger guys, but I don’t have a philosophical problem with it unless it’s really extreme (fx Demi Moore/Ashton Kutcher, just ick–I feel the same about older men dating much younger women). Over 10 years is really pushing it.

The picture presented has nothing whatsoever to do with the question posed, so I’m going to close this thread. A little less deception next time would be greatly appreciated.
