Give me ideas for a bachelor party in the Charlotte, NC area

My best friend is getting married, and being the Best Man, I’m in charge of this bachelor party shin-dig. But I don’t live anywhere near Charlotte, so I don’t know what there is to do.

The date is April 18th (a Thursday.) Maybe there’s a cool concert in town, or something? I looked at the Hurricanes schedule, and they’re playing out of town that night. I’m not going to bother with the Hornets, none of us are basketball fans.

There will be 6-8 guys, so it won’t be a massive group or anything. The only thing I’m concerned about is “getting back.”

He lives in Rock Hill, SC, and that’s where the ceremony and reception is. The wedding is on the 20th (I made the party a couple days before because a couple of us are traveling down there, and it’s easier for us to go a day early than to try and find time/money to fly down for two different weekends.) So his house and our hotel are back there. I know it’s sort of close to Charlotte, but is it outside of taxi-range? And even if it’s not, would we be spending like $100 per cab?

I can look into just getting 2-3 hotel rooms in Charlotte for the night, and then we can drive back to Rock Hill the next morning, but I think a couple guys have already booked their rooms in the hotel in Rock Hill that night. I’ll get in contact with them, though, to see if just staying in Charlotte is viable or not.

Or Hell, if there’s stuff to do in Rock Hill itself, I’m all ears for that, too.

Bump.

I’m going to a bachelor party in Charlotte in April, as well. We’re planning on going to theU.S. National Whitewater Center during the day, then going to a Brazilian steakhouse, then bar/brewery hopping.

No, there isn’t. That much I can help out with.

Oh, Earl! Rock Hill has that one rock and that one hill! What more would a bachelor want?

I second the Whitewater Center. They have zip lines and other activities if its too cold for rafting.

Also the Hurricanes play in Raleigh, so I would not buy tickets for that match!

What would y’all be interested in doing? Thursday’s kind of a hard day - most events get planned for weekends.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame is in Charlotte, and there’s also the Hendrick Motorsports Complex. How about a comedy club? There’s also The Fillmore, but you’d have to check back later to see if they’ve booked anything for that night. The Saloon has an act booked for that night, along with links to listen to some of his stuff.

Also, Brazilian steakhouses are awesome if you’re into chugging meat.
