Hopefully this will be fun for everyone.
I’m going to be vacationing soon where there is a pool on the roof of the hotel. It’s likely there will be limited service as nobody has fully gone back operating at 100%. So rather than get comfortably numb on the hotels drinks all day The plan is for my wife and me to mix up our own punch and some type of container so we have the following restrictions…
Number one I hate coconut
Number two prefer some type of punch or something that can be made in bulk and kept by the pool, not going back to the hotel room 100 times to refill a single glass
Number three I would prefer not be a frozen drink because that probably won’t last long regardless of what kind of container I put it in
Probably stay away from colas or anything with fizz unless it can be added at the time of consumption for the reasons above.
Sorry about the formatting I’m voice writing this with my phone
Whiskey sour. Fresh lemon juice is critical so pack a hand squeezer in your luggage. I like it with egg white and either a dash of bitters or perhaps a pinch of freshly microplaned nutmeg.
It’s cliched but I also quite like a Bloody Mary for day drinking. They’re decent even if not ice cold. Extra spicy for me, please. If available where you’re travelling, consider making it a Bloody Caesar by using Clamato.
How about the classic scorpian?

8 ounces orgeat syrup
2 sprigs fresh mint

Simple, strong, but not necessarily inexpensive: Rusty nail (cocktail) - Wikipedia
12 ounces of canadian blended whiskey in a red solo cup.
I didn’t even think about whiskey sours. What a great idea. Nice and simple, so it could be made in a hotel room, in bulk fairly easily.
I have to say I admire the simplicity of it!
Splash of Canada Dry ginger ale for the tropical vibe.
It sounds like a good idea, but…we were in Mazatlan in January. It was in the 70s in January. It waas a beautiful sunny day. Some Canadians came down to the pool and they were drinking whisky from the bottle. One guy passed out on his belly in a chaisse lounge. They had to take him to the hospital where he spent the next two days being treated for sunburn.

Simple: Remove beer from ice chest, open, sip and enjoy
A punch would be the best way to go. A concentrated cocktail like a Whiskey Sour would have you reeling after drink #3. Just any combination you find appealing of “one of sour; two of sweet; three of strong; four of weak.”
Assuming you’re going someplace tropical or semi-tropical, try a variant of Planter’s Punch. I like it in an ice-packed Collins glass with a healthy shot of Jamaica or Haiti rum, a shot of lime juice, and top with fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice. The lime gives you your sour, and the fruit juice combines the sweet and the weak. Substitute fresh orange juice if you prefer a sweeter drink.
Speaking of the glassware, you can’t go wrong with a classic Tom Collins — melt a little sugar in lemon juice in a 16-oz Collins glass, fill with ice, add a big shot of gin, fill with seltzer and garnish with a lemon slice or twist. (This always seems like a hot-weather Yankee drink to me, not as appropriate to Florida or the islands)
No glass allowed in the pool area, sir.
Ice Pick: vodka and iced tea.
What kinda cheap-ass hotel roof pool you RUNNIN’, buddy???
I’ll whack you…GOOD…(trips and stumbles and collapses in a pool of booze)
I like the way you think but unfortunately my wife doesn’t like beer of any variety.
The wife and I tried out sex on the beach cocktails this evening just to see if it would be agreeable. Very tasty I must say.
Vodka and lemonade. Get a good lemonade; I’m partial to the Simply and Honest brands, but whatever you like is what matters. For vodka, I like Skyy; for use in a mixed drink, I think it’s the best value. I’d only use a better brand for something like a martini. For a session cocktail you can sip all day in the sun without dying, think in terms of at least an 8:1 ratio of lemonade to vodka. It’s simple, refreshing, and can be made right in the (probably not glass) lemonade bottle or carton.
POG juice (passion fruit orange guava) plus rum is simple and delicious.
