Glasnost Mafia

Even though Pleo has admitted that his claim is intended to confuse the Scum since he might actually be a power role? So he’s stated that he might be lying Town?

No thoughts on MentalGuy’s “I think X and Y are likely to be scum; I think Z is probably town; I’m going to vote for Z” reasoning, then?

because you were cautioning Suburban to think about how he looks rather than encouraging him to find Scum. That’s just icky.

Fair enough. Suburban, I hereby encourage you to find scum.

Except that you were setting him up poorly if both sach and I noticed it. So maybe you don’t have the skill you claim you don’t have

This I like.
I agree with Drain Bead on this point. Mental Guy posted before I stated that I would switch my vote to Pleonast. So at that point I think he should have felt very vulnerable. (yay to me for being slow). Anyway, I agree that the lack of claim is more indicative of scum than Town.

Maybe I won’t switch my vote to Pleonast.
Decisions Decisions.

And I want to go home too. Once I leave the office I won’t be online again until after the deadline so…

Nice.

I’ll also echo calling MentalGuy out for not claiming at this point.

I think now is the time if people are to make an informed decision about whether or not you should by lynched, regardless of where my vote happens to be.

Maybe this will make your decision easier

Unvote: Astral
Vote: Mental Guy**

I agree with the case drain has made both prior to and after Mental’s defense.

I’s still be satisfied to see Astral lynched, but I really don’t want a tie. Gadarene’s recent comments have also piqued my interest as should be evident.

A couple of people have said they would switch to Pleo to avoid a tie, but I am afraid some of the players that have not been involved today will show up near the end and find my play as scummy as some of you do. And I will not be here right at the very end of the Day.

I have been reluctant to do this since I am rendering myself completely useless unless the scum awaken a sleeper, but I am the town cop. I do realize some players will think I am scum just trying to draw out the real cop, but do remember that this bandwagon did not start on me until this afternooon and I did not see it until after 2:30 central time.

I feel that my vote was based on reasonable (though possibly flawed) analysis, but I did not consider how it might be viewed and I should have, so I am sorry.

So you agree with Drain’s case, but you apparently don’t give any weight to the fact that I was the first one to vote for MentalGuy and have been consistent thereafter in expressing my opinion about him, because your interest has been “piqued” by my off-handed comments about it. Okey-dokey.

This I don’t like nearly as much. In fact, I think the opposite.
Generally, lynching scum is harder.
I don’t see how the initial votes on MentalGuy being simulposts means what you think it means. Assume a Townie MentalGuy makes a crazy post. Both Town and Scum are free to jump on it. Nothing is really holding scum back. Actually I would say a FAST bandwagon as we saw is LESS likely if MentalGuy is scum because his scum status would reduce the number of players willing to jump on it right away.

I will agree with you that if MentalGuy turns up scum, then the members of the simulpost would receive quite a bit of Townie Cred (i.e. a Town-led bandwagon), but that’s assuming MentalGuy is scum. I don’t think the logic works in reverse.

Are you stating that your vote for Mental Guy should absolve you of the consequences of any of your other actions?

Oh, jesus. I need to go now and can’t come back to the thread before Dusk.

unvote Mental Guy
vote Pleo

sigh

Unvote: Mental Guy

This is easily resolved with a counter claim or flip later

The two parts of this sentence aren’t actually logically connected – the possibility that you’re scum trying to draw out the real cop wouldn’t be any greater or lesser if the votes on you had accumulated earlier, as far as I can see.

Still, since you’ve claimed cop and there’s no good way of testing that claim, I don’t have any real choice but to

unvote MentalGuy for now, I guess.

Of course, since we don’t have a doctor, it’s gonna look pretty strange if you don’t get lynched and you’re still alive toMorrow, but I suppose we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Have to think about where I’m putting my vote now.

Obviously not. Quit being obstreperous.

It won’t look so strange if he’s still alive, as Scum have a roleblocker.

NETA: n/m, forgot about the jailer role. MentalGuy’s claim makes my head hurt.

???

I don’t get it.

If he is the cop and he’s still alive toMorrow, this means that either (a) he was jailed by the jailer (and thus couldn’t use his cop power, rendering himself basically useless), or (b) the scum for some reason decided not to target him.

What does the scum roleblocker have to do with anything?
