Glasscock County, TX is the most Republican county in America

According to this list list (registration required), the most Republican county in America is Glasscock County, Texas, with 93.1% of its 571 votes going to the GOP in the 2000 Presidential election. Orange County, CA doesn’t even make the top 100 list. I wonder who those 40 brave souls who voted for Gore and Nader were, though I suspect they instead voted with the Constitution, Liberty, and Handmaid’s Tale parties.

And of course:

So, uh, what are Pittingt, exactly?

I’ve been out that general direction a few times, and don’t recall there being much of anything but bible-thumpers, tumbleweeds and the occasional dust storm. The land’s so flat you can stand on a chair and watch your dog run away from you for three days.

There’s only 1400 people in the whole 900-square-mile county, according to
this site. If they want to be all Republican and shit, let 'em, I say.

:::makes note::: Put Glasscock county on list of places to move to. Also, put Glasscock on list of words to use frequently.

So, where’s the most liberal county in the US?

Those other 40 are probably Republic of Texas advocates.

stp: So, where’s the most liberal county in the US?

Well, San Francisco County is said to be the most liberal county in California, if that’s any help.

The two most Democratic counties (or county-equivalents) are:

District of Columbia – 90.5% Democrat
Bronx, NY – 88.0% Democrat

This has been posted before, numerous times.

With a name like glasscock, who would fuck with them?

Insert your own “overcompensating” joke here.

Why’d you think they were all up in a dander about Clinton and Lewinsky? Jealousy!

My grandmother was from nearby DHIBJD Texas.

This gal, who lived in da Bronx a little less than half her life, is here to tell you that Democratic /= liberal, necessarily. Somebody lecturing on gay or abortion rights is not going to meet with a rousing reception, and the working people (mostly non-white, as 86% of my fellow county-ites aren’t) loved Clinton’s welfare reform.

But Democratic? Sure. There’s lots of flavors, though, and the rest of the city doesn’t fall into line either–our last coupla Republican mayors, for example, would probably be looked on as Satan’s spawn in Glasscock.

Cinderella?

Slipper? I hardly even know her!

Hell, buddy…you slip her. You brought her.

When the late John Glascock (one “S”) was the bass player for Jethro Tull, Ian Anderson would introduce him onstage as “Old Brittle Dick.”

Y’all don’t want to mess with Sheriff Booger Pruitt.
