Glee's roleplaying game companion thread

Difficult to get all of you positioned correctly…
(Also the spell casters have much more brain than brawn…)

Quentin’s no expert on magic. Can one of you (gestures vaguely spellcastingly in the air) do something?

All right, well. Johannes, let’s prise this thing out of the way. Quentin’s no mathematician, either, but he can push down on a tree trunk.

And now we go scout out the goblin camp.

Right?

Sounds good. Dorric will head over first to make sure there aren’t any traps or stragglers.

Sounds good to me! Can’t let them block the highway again

Dorric is 59% to Hide (+20% bonus for natural cover).
He needs 1-16 on a d20 (= 20 sided dice), and rolls a 16 = success.
Dorric is 59% to Move Silently (+10% bonus for waterfall noise).
He needs 1-14 on a d20 (= 20 sided dice), and rolls a 5 = success.
Dorric is 50% to Find Traps.
He needs 1-10 on a d20 (= 20 sided dice), and rolls a 1 = success.
Dorric is 30% to Hear Noise (+10% bonus for noisy snorer!).
He needs 1-8 on a d20 (= 20 sided dice), and rolls a 4 = success.

What kind of stuff, and can he tell what kind of huminoid?

In the shadowy cave, Dorric can only see outlines.
The humanoid is bigger than a man (and snores very loudly!)
There are piles of stuff which could be:

  • furs
  • rubbish
  • wood
  • weapons
  • treasure chest

N.B. I’m not using a map for this - just visualise some bushes + boulders in front of a small cave (with no tunnels or openings.)

How much bigger than a man? Am I able to investigate more closely without blowing my cover/waking the giant up?

We’ve got numbers and the element of surprise and I don’t think we’re likely to take a peek and then leave. Maybe if we’re going to risk blowing our cover we should all risk it together?

Ok, if the group agrees Dorric will sneak back and tell the party what he saw.

I could send Jinx into the cave to investigate. He’s small and quiet - although the mage’s cat familiar will have better eyesight in the dark.

Dorric would have to enter the cave to learn more about the sleeping chap - but his successful Sneak in approaching the area can continue - which means he can do this safely.

The rest of the party are close enough to rush in and hit before the sleeper awakes…

Both Familiars are quiet enough to take a peek without any risk…

Oh, OK. So we’re close enough to intervene already, and there’s no reason for Dorric not to go ahead with his original plan to keep scoping it out. Sounds good to me.

John will send Sneakerpuss in as well to take a look around.

So will Dorric, but his daggers will be out, just in case.

So… anyone got any problems with just killing him in his sleep…?

Yeah, what’s the ruling there, Johannes? I presume you’re detecting some evil.

Players, thanks for the helpful comments - just what I need to move the game along!
