Glee's roleplaying game companion thread

No problem glee. Thanks for the heads up. As for me I am going on vacation for a week starting today, but I should still be able to check in once a day or so.

Ah, no problem. We’re ready when you are.

My problems pretty much sorted - thanks for your patience.
I’ll try and post more over the weekend…

John + Plixican, please confirm your Familiar’s act - or suggest a new one!

Dale, you’re sorted as a healer (remember you can use First Aid as well as Spells.)

John and Dorric, please let me have your (family-friendly) chants.

Quentin, you’ll be in the Arena on your own, OK?

Johannes, see if you have a Skill to help you act correctly in the Parade…

Once I’ve got those replies, the game will move on.

(Sorry if the game seems slow at times, but I do value your input - and this is the also time to thoroughly study your character!)

Mahaloth: Are you ok with our familiars performing together, perhaps with a “Sylvester and Tweetie Pie” style dynamic (without either getting hurt, obviously)?

Yessir. Two-hander and a scowl.

Yes, I think you’ll find Sneakerpuss is good at capturing prey. If yours is good at evading, it may be entertaining to watch.

Johannes will use his etiquette skill and a winning smile to participate in the parade with the proper decorum.

Quentin has a 75% chance to Display Weapon Prowess.
He needs 1-15 on a d20 (= 20 sided dice), but rolls a 17 = fail.

Dale has a 75% chance to First Aid.
He needs 1-15 on a d20 (= 20 sided dice), and rolls a 11 = success.

(John Smith and Plixican need no rolls to instruct their Familiars.)

John communicates with Sneaker telepathically, saying, “Hey, why don’t you sneak over to that tent Johannes just came out of and see what you hear? Come on back and let me know what is going on over there.”

Ha!

A flesh wound.

I’ll use this in game now as it’s a helpful instruction!

It was for 2 hit points, so indeed just a scratch to the healthy Ranger!

John uses his knowledge of local and ancient history to understand:

What a Decarus is.

What the two man are arguing about and how it relates to their current situation.

Is there a place near the tent where john sensed trouble where Dorric can hide and either be ready for a backstab or shoot his sling from a place of hiding?

Sure, but not to worry - Dorric uses his Alertness Skill to recognise that 20 Gladiators led by Jornilsson look supremely confident.

John has a 85% chance to remember Ancient History.
He needs 1-17 on a d20 (= 20 sided dice), and rolls a 3 = success.

He recalls facts about the traditions of the Empire…

John has a 35% chance to know Local History.
He needs 1-7 on a d20 (= 20 sided dice), but rolls a 12 = fail.

He doesn’t know why the Patrol are behaving this way now…

Plixican sends his crow aloft to scout the immediate area, to generally see the last of the land but specifically to check for any other Empire soldiers in the vicinity.

Gentlemen,

it’s tricky to run a Web roleplaying game, so I thought I’d ask your opinions about now. For example:

Are you happy with your character?
Does the use of the two threads make sense?
Is the game too slow or too fast?

From my point of view:

  • there’s been some super speeches and clever use of Skills + Familiars
  • it’s a bit slower than I expected (but with 6 players in different time zones, that’s probably inevitable)
  • do have a close look at your characters (there is a wide range of Skills … and some plot points!)
