So, how does the world work? Czar is an unofficial nickname for someone who works at the White House to coordinate the work of different agencies or to place an emphasis on a particularly acute problem. They have no czar-like authority, they don’t have pogroms against their enemies, they just make recommendations for policy in the executive branch. The term was first used under Nixon and the same sort of position has been used in every administration since then. There is nothing wrong with it, and in fact it may be a better way of getting things done. The fact is that the right has exploited the sheep-like nature of the current conservative movement to gin up a controversy out of whole cloth. Using the word “czar” to suggest that there is something nefarious shows an utter lack of understanding or a calculated attempt to mislead the public.
True, but until he adresses the question one way or the other, people will still wonder…

I promised a friend to watch his show for a week rather than dismiss him as a moron. Like a like a lot of pundits I can probably find several points that we agree on, but listening is like wading through shit to find the pot your dog ate. It just isn’t worth it to me, and the I think crap he spews outweighs his valid points. You sure won’t fix an out of control government by replacing corrupt democrats with corrupt republicans.
Did you guys hear that he recently lost his lawsuit trying to force down the Web site glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990.com? I didn’t read the decision. As far as I know it’s because Beck was unwilling or unable to provide evidence he didn’t rape and kill a girl in 1990. Now, consider that he refused to provide evidence he didn’t rape and kill a girl in a court of law. That’s not exactly evidence of anything, but it really makes you wonder why he’s so reluctant to prove he did not rape and kill a girl in 1990. It’s one thing to not address on his show whether he raped and killed a girl in 1990, but this was court. It’s serious.
Also maybe it had something to do with the Web site being satirical protected free speech. I don’t know for sure.
