I don’t know if this is an obvious question, but was Glenn Beck constantly saying ‘plug the hole’ supposed to be a reference to incest in the Obama family? I don’t see why he’d keep saying the phrase ‘plug the hole, plug the hole’ unless it was meant as a double entendre.
Well, I’m sure Obama wants to shove the hole down America’s throat.
Hey, I can just repost an exerpt from a recent presentation I did for a college class on left and/or right-wing bias in the media re’ Beck:
"…Mr. Beck received the dubious honor of being named 2009‘s“Misinformer of the Year” by MediaWatch. He challenged the title on his radio show, stating “…some liberal blogs named me the Misinformer of the Year. But what I loved about it was, they didn’t back it up with any facts…” (Beck, Glenn,1/4/10).
True to form, however, he was misinforming his listeners. MediaMatters provided numerous factual rebuttals to Beck’s claims throughout 2009…in fact, they provide 18 such examples of blatant falsehoods on their page devoted to the story alone, including one which got him nominated for “Lie of the Year” by PolitiFact:
“… Throughout 2009, Beck repeatedly advanced the false claim that White House science and technology adviser John Holdren – whom Beck called “our science czar” – supported forced abortions and putting sterilants in drinking water. PolitiFact.com declared his claim “pants on fire” false and nominated it for “Lie of the Year,” stating that Holdren and his co-authors “make clear that they did not support coercive means of population control.” ( MediaMatters).
In an appearance on The View in May of 2009, Beck was confronted by the hosts with his own comments regarding a recent incident on a train. His own words, as broadcast on his radio show and mischaracterizing the incident, were played back to him.
He claimed that he and his entourage were denied prime seating due to it being reserved, and that it turned out the seats were being saved for the ladies from The View. He further elaborated that Barbara Walters had approached him during the ride. Neither had actually been the case.
When confronted, he equivocated, but was forced to admit that his version of the story was complete and utter fabrication. Whoopie Goldberg refused to allow him his defense that he “misspoke”, declaring he was “a lying sack of dog mess.” Barbara Walters demanded to know what, if any standards, he adhered to as a “journalist”. He countered with the admission that he was not, in fact, a journalist, but a “commentator.”
Like several other such commentators with an obvious and admitted right-wing bias, Beck is not a journalist. He is a former (some suggest current) rodeo clown…"
And what’s up with his recent apparent mental breakdown? (more than usual even, I mean?) Something about some vast conspiracy against him and revelations from God…I was done with my research by then and was so sick of monitoring these nutjobs I didn’t investigate beyond the headlines. :dubious:

The Daily Show was kicking ass in 2005 (still is too) and spawned a spinoff - The Colbert Report. FoxNews tried to compete with Jon Stewart by producing an atrocity of television known as The Half Hour News Hour. The Star Wars Christmas Special was more watchable. Having been utterly defeated by Jon Stewart, they went after his minion - Colbert.
Now, having been burned by their lack of comedy, FoxNews knew that they couldn’t out funny Colbert so they decided to out crazy him. Enter Glen Beck. Colbert warns that bears are a threat to America, Beck says the Girl Scouts are Nazis. Colbert blames illegal immigration on chupacabras, Beck blames it on Dora the Explorer.
So screw Colbert for inflicting us with Glen Beck. I hope this pole dance video haunts his dreams.
No, the really sad thing is that there are Americans who want Beck’s show.

I suspect the a significant portion of his listeners hate his guts, but he is entertaining if you like to watch trainwrecks.
