Glenn Beck savagely mauled by she-wolves

Incorrect. He puts a lot of effort into getting facts right. If it’s important and he misses on something, his producer cuts in.

He did not say that Walters addressed him first.

He wondered how they’d reserved a table. However, it was the Amtrak people who said the table was reserved, not Walters. So it’s entirely possible that someone in Walters’ staff called and asked for space, or that someone at Amtrak was overzealous. However, someone at Amtrak indeed tell him the space was reserved.

They went over the audio this morning and it was clear that he didn’t lie. Earlier this week as he was mentioning that he would be on the show, he recalled the earlier conversation and couldn’t remember if he’d correctly said who went up to who. Then on the show, he apologized for getting it wrong.

Then today (after his “View” appearance) he went over the audio and realized that he hadn’t mischaracterized the encounter.

On the other hand, the shrews didn’t exactly let him finish a sentence.

I’ve been familiar with Whoopi Goldberg nearly my whole life, and I never noticed how much she reminds me of Christian Slater.

It wasn’t 7 minutes over “who said hello first,” but nice to see that Beck’s efforts to spin it that way haven’t been wasted.

He made an issue of the fact that they reserved seats on Amtrak. Outrageous! Except they say they didn’t, and he never bothered to ask them about it before ranting on the air. A reasonable person might assume that an overeager Amtrak employee, knowing that two celebrities were looking for seats, took it upon himself or herself to save a couple of seats. If it was really important to him, he could have taken it up with Amtrak. But it’s so much for fun to use it too cast two prominent liberals in a negative light!

The whole point of his rant was to take what had been a civil encounter* and characterize in a highly unflattering manner. When called on it, he apologized. But in the safety of his own echo chamber, he expresses outrage and demands an apology from them!

What a weasel. It would be pitiable, were it not for the fact that some people are actually buying the BS.

*Yep, that’s the way Walters and Goldberg described, and Beck didn’t disagree.

Nuts to you, I had nothing to do with this.

It was precisely about that. That was the essence of the “lie” assertion from what I saw.

He said the seats were reserved. He didn’t say they reserved them. He did ask “how do you reserve a seat?”

The shrews never had this level of discourse though, they were too busy yelling.

I never once heard a raised voice in that View clip. Perhaps you could point out the “yelling”?

Simple–when a she-person defends an opinion, it’s shrewish yelling, when a he-stud does, it’s elevating the discourse! Weren’t you ever in Debate?

emarkp, if you honestly believes all this fuss would have erupted if Glenn Beck had said "Barbara Walters walked over to me and said ‘Hi’"and stopped right there, and that it wasn’t about portraying them as stereotypical elitist liberal snobs, then I see n point in trying to convince you otherwise.

Uh, Whoopi at 4:00 and 6:00?

emarkp,

Why do you hate America?

Then one can only conclude that nothing he says is important.

Probably talking about Pittsburg, Kansas…Well, maybe.

Of course I meant Pittsburg Kansas. The great thing about statistical sampling of African Americans in Pittsburg Kansas, is that once you interview about 200 of them, your sample size is the the entire population.

I kid of course. I meant PittsburgH Pennsylvania.

Do we have anything besides Beck’s word that the Amtrak people said this?

He certainly did try to imply that Babs and Whoopi were trying to bigtime the train. I suspect, if anything, he was just pissed that they got better star treatment than he did.

Plus Beck probably earns more than Walters and Goldberg combined. His radio, TV show, books, and personal appearances by some accounts are in the $20 million per year range (is further proof of the non-existence of a benevolent god needed?) and he’s extremely famous; if The View hosts could get reserved seating so could he.

The last time I heard Beck on the radio, he was raving about how the government could use the Onstar connection in his car to let the air out of his tires while he was driving.

He is a lunatic

No, no. Surely Amtrak would give great favor to the Libruls. It’s nothing but hardship for hard working conservatives.

Speaking of which, what was Glenn Beck doing on Amtrak; a liberal, socialist, subsidized, northeastern elite, alternative-fueled train? And you know who else uses trains? The French.

I would think he’d rather walk.

And the French have to reserve seats! I see it all now–it’s a socialist plot to ruin the lives of hard working (white) Americans! Grab your tar and feathers, folks–we’re going after those uppity View women!!!

PS-REAL Americans don’t walk anywhere–they drive gas guzzlers because that is their God given right. <cue patriotic music>
