Does anyone know why Fox has thrown Glen Beck under the bus ???
Why did Fox through him under the bus ?
Well, from what I’ve read, Beck was getting a little too crazy even for Fox, was losing sponsors, wasn’t really interested in playing ball with execs about following scripts and talking points and was using his show too much to promote his non-Fox projects.
I’ve also read that Hannity was getting pissy about getting overshadowed by him.
Yes, one simple reason: money. See, Beck was a POPULAR but UNPROFITABLE man on Fox. How many more ad-sponsors could he lose? Even Roger Ailes could read the tea leaves. He appealed to the rabid conspiracy theorists and tea party nuts but THAT IS IT. THats why all the ads were getting pulled. No one wanted to be associated with him. No one that wanted to also sell things to mainstream america. And if you can’t do that on network and cable tv, youre finished.
Never would have believed Fox could be out-Foxed.
indian3478, please do not start the same thread multiple times. Give other posters enough time to respond to the first one.
I have merged your threads into one.
I am also not at all sure that this is a debate and I may move it to the Cafe Society as a question about entertainment. (I’ll wait a bit to see whether a debate actually breaks out.)

Maybe we can debate whether his name has one “N” or two.

Obviously his message touched a nerve. He’s being silenced by the, ur, uh, let’s just say liberals.
Now, I’m not saying that he was or wasn’t silenced by the liberals, but a lot of people are wondering about it. I’m just asking if it’s possible that liberals used their Hollywood Jewish connections to backstab him through his sponsors. I don’t know if that theory is true or not, but I think the mainstream media is falling down in its duty to this country by not asking this important question.
Fox flung Beck beneath the bus because Beck’s BS shocks e’en Fox, sir!
Is it possible that Fox acquired evidence pertaining to the shocking allegations about Beck possibly being involved in a rape/murder back in the 90’s? I haven’t heard that Fox has denied learning something about the alleged incident, and the timing does seem curious. I’m certainly not trying to suggest that there’s anything to those allegations but since it would be so easy for Fox and Beck to clear them up, I find it distinctly odd that they haven’t done so.
I also have heard the rumor that Beck may have been involved in a murder in the 90’s. Why has he not denied these allegations? I’m just asking.
Stop asking. The less anyone hears of his name from now on, the better.
How was Glen thrown under the bus by FOX?
Seems to me he dove there all by himself. FOX even repeatedly told him to stay closer to the sidewalk. After his craziness drove away his sponsors, no one was willing to pay FOX enough to keep him so the let the contract expire.
Unless you can show some examples of FOX pushing him to his madness I don’t see much debate.
I still see Beck on Fox. At the gym Fox is the only news channel they carry on the TV sets attached to the treadmills, so while doing my gerbil imitation (and thank god for the box of wood chips behind each treadmill!) I was watching it and saw Beck railing about sex slavery in Saudi Arabia. Seems he had some video of a Saudi Arabian crackpot woman calling for sex slavery to be instated in Saudi Arabia so Saudi Arabian men could handle their animal needs without going against Islam (which condones sex slavery). She even proposed that Saudi Arabians buy prisoners slated for death in war-torn counties like Chechnya so they could have the slightly more human fate of being enslaved.
Well this had Beck bouncing off the walls with claims that the Islamic world was at war with American and if they won they would be enslaving our wives and daughters, yadda yadda yadda.
It was obvious to me what was happening … the ravings of a Saudi Arabian dingbat had set off an American dingbat to rave, which is the sort of thing that belongs on The Soup or The Onion, but the real shame of it is, Fox News is broadcasting this stuff as actual news commentary that adults should listen to without laughing their asses off, and apparently there’s a sizable portion of moron viewers who don’t have the mental wherewithal to figure out that Beck’s program is the modern equivalent of one of those old-time circus sideshows where people display birth defects and deformities to the rubes for a quarter.
The deformities are intellectual now, but it’s the same game.
Please, somebody ACTUALLY throw Beck under the bus. He’s the intellectual equivalent of roadkill.
BrainGlutton, I never thought you’d be involved in the cover-up.
There was no cover-up, understand? Glen decided to retire, that was all his own decision reached entirely without external influence of any kind including threats or even representative samples of torture, and he needed my help digging his . . . retirement basement, that’s all. And the uh, clay where he liv- . . . lives is like really wet and red, excuse me, I’ve got to wash off all this . . . clay.
While he did he have one of the higher rated shows on the network, he wasn’t attracting a particularly desirable demographic, and sponsors had been bailing on him for a long time.
And from what I’ve read, it probably didn’t help that he refused to kiss the asses of Roger Ailes or Rupert Murdoch.
Roger Ailes sold short on gold futures.

Some posters here mentioned that sponsors were dropping him. Where does this info come from?
