At first I was quite taken aback by your first link. Then I looked at the fuller clip from Really Not All That Bright and saw that your much shorter clip was either dumb or dishonest, as it attempts to portray a completely inaccurate picture. From your clip, one would take away that Beck is the one doing the shooting, or that Pelosi and company are the ones that should be shot. From the fuller clip you can see that he’s admonishing Pelosi and company that her enemy is “people who believe in something”—both from the right and the extreme left. He’s talk TO her, telling her that the people who believe in something will not be stopped unless they (her “enemies”) are shot in the head. He even starts the whole thing off by saying that to shut him up they would have to shoot him in the head. Quite different from the impression one gets from your truncated clip.
In the clip with Viera he says that the Rangle/Moore stuff is comedy. I took it as clear hyperbole myself.
Now that we’ve straightened that out, lets go back to the OP. This is actually a good example. Can someone point to Beck condoning violence against Piven? Let’s draw the line from Beck to Piven. As I said, I haven’t seen much of him, so it might actually exist. I’m curious to see if it does.
Hey, Chucklehead, I see you’re up to your same old tricks. —Wait, make that “trick”.
I would bet good money that no one has tried to call other posters stupid more than you. And I think that says quite a lot. Like you have a grossly inflated estimation of your own intellect. And that you’re also not very secure in your belief. That latter part is for good reason, believe me.
Just as the guy who walks around with his chest out trying to act tough often isn’t, someone who is so quick to attempt to disparage the intellect of those who disagree with him is usually the one wanting in the cerebellum department.
Do I think you’re stupid? Actually, I don’t. I think you’re solidly slightly above average. But you have this perception of yourself that’s not rooted in reality, and you have that insecurity, and you have the fact that you’re a schmuck working against you, too.
Still, with all that, you can try to dial down the assholish childishness, no? Or is it the thing in the driver’s seat?
It’s also interesting to note that Beck’s website has still not taken down the death threats that were posted on it aimed at Piven. Now, the douche nozzle has never come out and specifically called for a fatwa, but when he fills up his show with things like:
the Byron Williams of the world just might think spilling a little blood is a good thing.
In my defense, I only say it to the stupid ones. You see, this board is about reducing ignorance. You are dedicated to holding onto it.
Disagreeing with me on topics of opinion is fine. Disagreeing on facts or simple reason are where people would have trouble.
I’ll let the peanut gallery decide on if I’m smart or not. But if someone does something stupid there is nothing wrong with pointing it out. Some people aren’t like you. Some people want to know when they’ve done something stupid so they can learn.
Protip: Stop saying stupid things and ignoring facts, and I will stop pointing them out. Yay!
Glenn Beck is absolutely disgusting. But I can’t help thinking that people like him and some of the more shrill Tea Partiers, or at least their rhetoric, will some day push people over the edge. In one way or another.
Everybody has to have a special purpose…glad I can help out.
Suggestion though… don’t follow me around. Instead go straight to one of those brilliant threads like “I hate Conservatives” or “Stupid Republican idea of the Day” or “What will the Republicans Rape next?” or (Brainy G’s favorite) “I demand that the use of Algore result in permanent banning !!”.
Now I’m headed to bump an old favorite back to the first page… follow me if you like.
BTW it’s not the constant spelling errors in your posts that should embarrass you, it’s that someone soo super duper smart can’t figure out one of the multiple ways to get a spell-checker for their browser.
Of course, I are just the dumb, and onlys graduamated ninefth grade (though to be accurate, I quit after the sixth). But, I know my computer wants nothing more than to ruin my life, in whatever ways it can, which is why when I started posting here I took preventative measures. What’s your rationale?
CMC fnord!
Shall I remind everyone of The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo too? I saw your reading comprehension problem on my first read of the treaty.
Wow. I misread something? Yes, you (and others) were correct and I was wrong. And when a fresh poster came in and was able to parse the passage in question in a way that made that clear to me, what did I do? I fully admitted that I was wrong and apologized to everyone for my misreading.
I am So sick and tired of all this target holy war blood bullshit. That fucking pansy Beck would be so busy hiding and shitting on himself if it ever really happened.
If God would actually make use of a tool like Beck, it only reinforces my belief that God uses tools I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole. I honestly cannot understand how or why any rational human being or most rocks would regard Beck favorably. The person is nothing more nor less than a flag-rubbing, bible-thumping greasy maggot. I hope I can say all that and get away with it.
Who the hell cares? Beck is, you know, a bad guy. And if you can insinuate some connection between him and bad things that happen, well, what more do you need? What the heck is wrong with you anyway?
In other words, it wasn’t answered when I asked the same thing back in Post 28, and the PreCog in me sees more misdirection, obfuscation, and wait…crickets. Lot’s of crickets.
As far as I know, what Beck actually did was to call attention to Piven’s piece in the Nation, which actually calls for violence:
This sudden counter-attack on Beck strikes me as a strategic attempt to call attention away from Piven’s latest call to violence.
For those not aware, people have actually been killed in the Greece riots. Rioters have actually firebombed police and government buildings. The student riots in England have also been violent. Piven thinks bringing this kind of protest to America would be a good idea. But then, she’s been calling for violent revolution since the 1960’s.
But it’s Beck who’s the real worry here, for having the audacity to call this out. After all, people who listen to him might have a violent response to… Piven’s direct request for her own side to engage in violence.
But no doubt many in this thread are conscientiously researching and crafting posts citing all the other things Beck has said that support the OPs thesis. In the meantime, at least we have those lovely crickets.
