Uprooting a family is a major life decision. Have you ever moved a family with established roots in a community? If you have, great, and I’d love to hear how easy it was to do; otherwise, I don’t think that you can speak with such brazen authority on the motivations of another person.
Perhaps his wife had some say in the matter. They have children who have spent the majority of their lives (at this point) in Florida. If I had a wife and a couple of kids, and was considering moving, I might want a few weeks to contemplate the decision.
