Somebody at work has printed this writing by Matt Barber from World Net Daily called “God Will Not Be Mocked” God will not be mocked out and left it lying around the work and common areas.
Excerpts include:
“Evil won on Tuesday.”
“Indeed, evil carried the day. America has willfully chosen a Democratic platform – a Romans 1 platform – upon which to stand. We have chosen a party that thrice denied God, and then returned his name in vain – amid deafening boos – to its platform.”
“Indeed, they have invited God’s wrath. Our president has invited God’s wrath. We all, through act or omission, have invited God’s wrath.”
“America is divided and her president the divider. The scales have tipped. The 51 percent – the takers, the God-deniers and the subversive, now outnumber the makers, the seekers of righteousness and the patriotic.”
But, don’t get depressed!
“His will is being done, even when it is not our own. He is faithful, though we are not. Victory is His. We are His. And so victory is ours.”
Now, I’m wondering which of my coworkers is a total nut. Some folks are really taking Obama’s reelection very , very hard, and I feel sorry for them. I’m just hoping whomever is distributing this does not also have a concealed carry permit.
Obviously you must (secretly) print out and distribute copies of an atheist’s counter-argument. And then tell us all about it. You can even surreptitiously ask the ones you suspect “what do you think of this article someone left out”. This calls for escalation!
If President Obama won re-election, it was by the Will of God.
You may have noticed that there was a rather large ‘Act of God’ (in the form of a Hurricane) right before the election, and it was the President’s measured response to that crisis that turned the tide and sealed his re-election.
If God wanted President Obama to be re-elected, then perhaps you should reconsider believing such harsh things about him, his positions, and where this great nation is heading. It has long been the position of those on the far right to couch things in the worst possible terms and make the most dire of predictions about their opponents. None of these predictions have come true. Not one. As the bible tells us, you shall know false prophets by the failure of their prophecies. The right is filled with false prophets who make a tremendous amout of money selling hate and fear to their followers. God also repeatedly tells us (warns us, in fact) not to so harshly judge our fellow men, as we too are sinners and are guilty of that which we accuse others.
And so I ask you to take a step back from the fearmongering and hyperbole. This is a world of wonder, filled with beauty and light. Live each day happy and joyful, trusting in the Lord. Don’t spend your days cowering in the darkness, buying a packet of fear from those who grow wealthy selling distress.
Yeah, I never understood that stuff either: if God’s all-knowing and all-powerful and shit, then how can a bunch of piddly little ants in one small chunk of the world completely subverse His will? I like your idea, iiandyiii and I guess you could just copy-paste Chimera’s excellent response.
Please tell me the WND article was printed in Papyrus or Comic Sans or something?
I used to work at an accounting firm and at the front desk there was always a copy of the NY Times and The Wall Street Journal. Then, allovasuddenly, along with those two newspapers The Onion started appearing. This so angered one of the managing partners that he banned all newspapers from the front desk.
The quickest way to find out whose it is is to throw it away. You’ll hear about it very quickly. It’s totally inappropriate for the workplace anyway. Trash it.
Meh. Someone went around my building a couple of weeks ago, scattering issues of some conspiracy theory magazine, warning us about how we were all turning into sheeple because of how the government is secretly blah blah vaccines yadda yadda news media whatever.
I just threw away all the ones I saw and thought nothing more of it. Ironically, this was a building filled entirely with biology labs - you know, where actual scientists with highly trained critical thinking skills work.
