Goddam weather

I wish the frickin’ Canadians would keep this cold crap up there where it belongs.

I’m on a prescription med for my arthritis that I get delivered from a specialty pharmacy. It depresses the immune system, so when I came down with that ghodsawful case of the flu at Christmas, I stopped taking it. Then SWMBO got laid off and we lost the insurance coverage. By the time I got set up with new coverage, my arthritis was starting to hurt again.

I just got told that the shipment that I was supposed to receive today is held up because of the winter storms, and it will be Wednesday before I can get it. Except that on Wednesday, we leave town for a week for a national tournament. So I had to reschedule delivery for nearly two weeks from now.

Hopefully, things will have thawed out by then.:frowning:

It’s a crypto-Arctic plot.

I’m just a pup compared to you, Pops, but I’m glad I’m in the Pacific NW. My hands and knee hurt bad enough as it is when we get down into the 30s. I can’t imagine living in a cold climate.

OTOH, there’s a little bit of a bright side: you can shake a cane and complain about your rheumatiz.

It’s all Obama’s fault. Why does he keep talking about ‘unseasonable weather’, and never mention Canada, where it’s coming from?

They seem to be able to keep it warm in Israel.

Just sayin’.

TELL me about it.

Out here in southern California, we finally got above 68 degrees. Gotta get the air conditioner checked.

  • covers head, runs to avoid snowballs *

I once had a US colleague chuckle because he was up here and heard that a cold front had moved in from Siberia.

The weather is always someone else’s fault, he mused.

Obama’s fault? Maybe it’s Stephen Harper’s fault.
(If any of the non-Canadians on this board know who that is.)

Well, it’s snowing down in Texas
All of the telephone lines are down

Who you kidding. It’s friggen 80 degrees right now. Sunny, warm and not a chance of a snow ball surviving long enough to hit you.

Yes! I’m in the office in Burbank. Had to take off the windbreaker. Whew!

Just to be fair, I was born in Illinois in 1970, raised near Philadelphia from '77-'95, lived in Boston, MA from '95-'98-- I am DIVORCED from snow. Period. I love explaining to L.A. natives how I got pulled over for not brushing the roof of my car off while driving to school, which is a potential hazard. (It could fly off and blind the driver behind me, jamming their wipers) They think I’m kidding, no I’m not.

I LOVE four seasons, and I love a fresh snowfall, but this is nuts this year all around. From Texas to Michigan to New England to Mid-Atlantic, it’s freaking cold and people are buried in all the white shit. Hell, my parents (still on East Coast) claim they have become hermits and are doing just fine.

Damn, it’s only 72 degrees at 5 PM up here in Sacramento.

I don’t think it is Obama’s or Harper’s fault, I am pinning this bullshit on Algore.

74 in the Bay Area, and it is supposed to get warm tomorrow. I understand Rick Perry is thinking about moving here for the weather.
Our news anchors tell us not to rub it in, but I’ll make an exception for Texans.

I think there’s only been one day in 2015 where it’s been above 0 C here.

Next week, beginning on Monday, we have 5 days where the daytime temperature will be above 0. It will feel like shorts weather!

Coldest February in recorded history in Ottawa. The longest number of consecutive days that the Rideau Canal has been open for skating.

OP: You live in Houston? You’re not getting any sympathy from me. And even you guys in Canada: Ever hear of “lake effect”?

Yeah, but we’re gonna pay for it come July and August!

What makes you think we’ve never heard of lake effect?

and if it snows that stretch down south won’t ever stand the strain…

Anchorage had to truck in snow for the opening of the Iditarod.

We Floridians pity your frigid plight.

Seriously, though, man, we haven’t had so much as a frost or freeze in Tampa in three or four years now. That’s worrying.
