The BLM doesn’t round them up because of overcrowding. They round them up because cattle ranchers want to use the land for grazing their beef cattle.
I got a bunch of pictures, but have no idea how to get them online.
The small band that has been lurking has a couple that look like Little Joe’s horse from Bonanza, including a fresh colt.
They’ve moved their little act about a quarter mile west of me, today, so I’m good.
Dude, come on, man!! That actually gave me butterflies. I swear I’m gonna die if I don’t see pictures soon
Go to flickr. Sign up for an account (it’s super easy). Upload pictures to your computer then go to flickr and click “add photos” which will take you to where the pictures are stored and then you just click them to add them.
Well, neither is a native species, so I don’t see why the economically productive one shouldn’t be favored.
And H Sapiens is arguably a native species - at least as much as any other that migrated across the Bering Strait land bridge. Now, of course the numbers picked up quite a bit when boats started hauling them in from the east, but still native.
Well, arguably horses are native, since they evolved here, and didn’t we cover that in the thread already?
You should start a new “Far Side” comic. Seriously. ![]()
I’ve been advocating for global nuclear warfare for years now, but will they listen ?!
Actually, they might’ve. In the trumpness of time, hopefully.
You know, it’s actually been a while since I saw horse meat for sale at a butcher’s - and never in a restaurant, it was always “stick to your ribs, it’ll put hairs on yer nuts” sort of food.
And party on, dudes!
Bite your tongue! I’m certain there are other ways to limit human population that don’t make the entire planet unlivable.
FYI, we don’t do that in the US. No horse meat on the dinner tables here. I think we’ve banned slaughter houses (although that goes back and forth), so horses bought for slaughter are trucked to Canada and Mexico.
This quote from Dave Barry seems appropriate:
Well, there’s always global warming, but it’s not fast enough for my tastes.
Oh, I’m well aware. I’m just doing my part to inform y’all that, much like berets, striped shirts, guillotines and garlic necklaces, your cultural stereotypes might could do with a “this century” update ![]()
Everyone I know who has been to Iceland, except for my gf, has tried and enjoyed horse while there. (Is it just me, or is everyone going to Iceland lately?)
It worked!
Nobody’s going there anymore. It’s too crowded.
We just went. We didn’t eat horse (although we saw it on the menu several times.) We also didn’t eat whale, reindeer, or puffin.
I can’t seem to add any more. How do I do that?
And did you see Mr. Ted? He’s under the “camera roll” tab.
What’s that round structure in the distance ? Is that a water tower halfway hidden behind the hill, or… ?
Hell if I know how this works. I don’t see a camera roll tab. Grrr. Maybe you have to switch to that and share it as a separate link? Maybe someone who knows what they’re talking about should tell you though. I’ve never been able to add more than the 2 pictures I started with (of my dog, of course).
