Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 65 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 80 and cloudy for the day. There could be rain. Or not. TWPTB are in willy-nilly mode again. The big item on today’s agenda is laundry and a couple of errands that must be done. Sup shall be boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit, and cheesey garlic bread.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, woe and bother of all bothers, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life can be so difficult!
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
I actually slept till my alarm went off this morning! Guess I was tahred! And, shoe, I frequently hit the sheets between 8:30 and 9, being a morning person and all. I don’t necessarily go to sleep immediately - either Netflix or stoopit games on the tablet lead me to dreamland. Anyway, I’m just finishing breakfast, and shortly, I’ll head out to fetch the toddler. I hope to take her to the playground later this morning.
shady - despite cosigning, my credit score didn’t go down - it’s always been higher than my sweetie’s. I understood early on, but for decades, he and I have had identical financials, unless I’m forgetting something, so his score being that much lower is weird…
I’m thinking salmon will form the centerpiece of supper. Beyond that, the whole day is up for grabs.
Happy Tuesday!!
New carpet is less than a week old. So far, Higgs has peed on it, FCD spilled a full glass of Diet Coke on it, and Taz has horked up on it.
We just can’t have nice things…

You have FCD, Higgs and Taz.
Boo
Morning all. Shoe, I was abed by 10pm last night, albeit I’m usually up until 11-12, but slept pretty soundly for all that. Need to get my flu shot today and pay various and sundry bills, along with coaching soccer this evening, so a somewhat active day. Close to 80F today with no rain, can’t ask for more.
FCM, been pretty good about my new carpet (of course, I don’t have helpers like you do…). Did spill a Pepsi down between the sectional pieces and haven’t really been able to clean it (moving a sectional is a major job). So I just won’t see it for another 10-12 years…
swampy, looked at weather underground, looks like there are what we called ‘pop-up showers’, so yeah, the weather folks be guessing in your neighborhood.
Bumba!. Nice having the company.
Nettie, glad you’re safe (been in viewing distance of accidents too) and yeah, those two jokers sounded rather suspicious. And hooray for Princess and the newly-christened pan.
Red, so she’s finally gone. Hope the replacement is both trainable and agreeable.
OK, have had my morning banana, onward into the day!
I am, once more, butthurt. We tacked on an extra mile in our morning waddle today, extending it to four miles instead of the usual three. I would’ve voted for coffee instead like any sane person, but my partner insisted and I’m glad she did. Now I’m sucking down my second cup of coffee while the saga continues with the French teacher. The complexities of being nice to someone in a position of authority over your kid while at the same time being pointed and contemplating telling on them for being nigh impossible for overlyboy to work with are just mind-boggling. I wish I’d been a politician because I might be more prepared for this.
On the upside, overlygirl seems in less pain today with her wrist stabilized, which makes me feel better, too. Because it’s all about me. Right?!!
I’m seriously considering throwing some chili in the pot this morning so it’s ready post-work. I kind of don’t wanna because I’m lazy but I know that if I suck it up and do it I’ll thank myself later. Trying to decide - beans or no beans? I think I have some dried; if I want beans, I’ll have to cook 'em in the pressure cooker first. I’ve got the time, but do I want to bother? Hmmmmm. Maybe. Then I could use the beans. Dang decisions.
Does it help if I mention that beans in chili are a Communist plot to Destroy the Purity and Goodness of America?
Up and if not at them at least towards them. Cats are fed and watered, trash is out, phone is charged…so why am I not on my way to school already?
Happy Tuesday everybody!
So we had a bunch of callouts, so they sent people home on top of that, to achive the proper level of FUBAR. And of course I was the one running around putting out (metaphorical) fires. Although arson is kinda therapeutic. ![]()
And they have a Hoban Wash smilie: ![]()
Do they sap and impurify our precious bodily fluids?
you should have used coasters a tarp.
Glad overlygirl is better today, Wordy.
My normal route is three times around the neighbourhood and park, then down the hill to the beach and up the hill back home – about 2.1 miles. Lately I’ve been going up the street, going up to the major street, down to the corner market, up the beach, and up the hill – 1.85 miles. But I’ve been going round twice for 3.7 miles. I was short on time yesterday though, so I only did three laps around the neighbourhood and park, without doing the hill, for 2.0 miles.
Sweet! That’s awesome. As an aside, I wish I lived near a beach sometimes. The best I can do is be on top of a big hill during sunrise, which is lovely, but it ain’t the beach. Three laps is nothing to sneeze at. I need to get back to working out almost every day. I’ve kinda given myself a pass lately now that I meet a friend twice a week, but I’ve been slacking otherwise. Sounds like you’ve got a good routine.
Afternoon, mumpers! Late as usual, irk is still beyond irksome and I didn’t get a chance to come and see what the new MMP was all about. School? Generally horrible time as far as I’m concerned and I couldn’t want to leave.
Being the only girl-child in the family, my school clothes were always just for me. I was lucky as both infant and junior schools were across the road from my house so I never had far to go, and we could wear whatever we wanted to I had no uniform issues until I got into the Grammar School at the age of 11. Then the uniform trauma started, we were all supposed to get our uniform from the recommended supplier but it was ridiculously expensive so in reality we only got the essentials from there that you couldn’t get elsewhere (science overall, gym skirt, school badge for the blazer, hat and scarf). There was also a summer school dress but it was quite hideous and had my mum ever got hold of one, I doubt it would have survived very long before I ensured it met with some kind of terrible “accident”.
On the plus side, the school often had sales of second-hand uniform items so that kept the costs down. Good thing with all the kids at uniform-wearing establishments. Not to mention said schools were about 5 miles away from home, necessitating a long walk to the bus stop and the annual fight to justify a pass for the school bus.
Is everyone having a good Tuesday? hugs if you are, and hugs if you’re not!
Peace reigns for now! We spent and an hour anna half at the park, then ran into Food Lion for a couple of things. Home for lunch, a clean diaper, and a nap. For Roxy, not me. I’m not in diapers… yet…
While it’s quiet, I’ll continue my refinance application. Then, who knows…
I had bought a couple of pears from a local farm and I just had one… sorta… The skin was so tough and it had an odd flavor. I ate about half before tossing the rest and the other on into the trash. Lesson learned - don’t but pears from that farm. I had grapes instead.
Oh honey, last night I went to bed at 8pm, woke up at 10 for a glass of milk and a brownie, went back to bed and slept til 6…
Camouflage rugs would have hidden a multitude of sins.
I see that Gordie is also emulating Kopek. ![]()

Grammar school is one of the options for high school (age 11-16ish with 2 more years of ‘6th form’ at the end)- you have to sit an exam to get in one, and they’re not as common as they used to be.
The place I went to thought it was terribly fancy, and had a needlessly expensive and specific uniform; you had to get everything but shirt and shoes from their supplier, or their second hand shop. It was a girls’ school, with a compulsory tie, we weren’t allowed to wear trousers, and this was still the case when I left in 2001.
Irk irked.
I’m kinda glad I’m getting Wednesdays off, even though I’m way short on hours- I think if I irked there 5 days straight on a regular basis I might explode. The students are fine- in fact they were all great today, but I’m about ready to strangle about 80% of the administration, and a fair few of my co-irkers.
OK, I’m in need of some good thoughts here. FIL had to go in for a heart catheterization today. MIL fell this morning and hurt her shoulder, plus hit her head, but she didn’t tell anyone at the hospital, figuring once FIL is back home, she’d go to the ER.
OMG, Woman!!!
FCD just talked to her and told her to go to the ER now. His brother and a neighbor can help care for FIL while MIL is being evaluated/treated/whatever. Meanwhile, FCD is getting ready to drive to FL in a couple of hours to help out his folks. What he needs to do is make them move up here so we can take care of them.
So I’m not going to FL - he’s going alone. Stress is running a bit high here. My inlaws are really sweet people, but sometimes they make me crazy!! Oh, and we wouldn’t have known about this if MIL’s sister hadn’t called me…
Deep cleansing breaths…
Yep, sounds like a lot to juggle alright. You need more time at the park playing with Rox. Here’s hoping the weather holds pleasant for park playing and FCD’s errand of mercy away from home.
Boo, who has accomplished exactly nothing the past week
