Going home again, a traveling MMP

Home. Tired. Finished knitting my new hat this morning. Pleased with it. Pictures soon. Off to find food. And pronouns. Back to comment more later.

I officially have no tolerance for Kevin Smith films. I just tried to watch Clerks. Got 30 minutes into it and turned it off. If I had seen it when I was 14 I would have been blown away.

Fabricland indeed. It’s a bin of ends, hence the ridiculous cheapness… but the colours are suprisingly nice.

The kitchen looks like it’s been carpet bombed with dirty dishes and random cookware. How in the hell did that happen? It was clean just an hour ago.

I think I may actually get out of here at 6:30! Given that we were in the same place at 3:30 today where we were when we left yesterday, that’s really good!

{{Puggy}} Hope your department survives the cuts.

HEY MUPPET!!! YOU LEAVIN’ WORK EARLY TODAY???

:stuck_out_tongue:

{{{Puggy}}} hope you survive the layoffs.

Home. Fed. Tired. Warm Outside. Pronouns and Verbs AWOL.

Seriously. It’s 83 Amurrkin out right now. Not that I’m complainin’ bein’ as I am a Summer baby. Still, for this time of year that’s warmer than usual even in South Jawja.

The CEO or ATT is coming down week after next. Big Whoop! So, guess what? The place is being painted blue and orange. ICK! Blue walls, orange trim around the doors and the doors gettin’ a coat of orange paint.

ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

Is that wise? Do you trust him to come back with cheap stretch cotton, or what are the chances he’ll bring home dupioni silk and rodeo cotton?

After all these years, we finally watched The Big Lebowski. Weird movie. It’s a shame that the bowling alley they used was destroyed shortly after the movie was made and replaced with a school. I hope someone at least saved all of that vintage furniture and scoring tables. The computerized scoring of today certainly makes things easier, but it really lacks charm.

Charm in reference to a bowling alley. How quaint!

Which reminds me of a game I once played. It consisted of questions to which the answers were common household items. For instance…

Name a divided place in a road.

Answer: Fork

Get the idea?

Ok…

Another one…

Name something men do in alleys.

The answer sought…

Bowl

My answer…

Knife
I have a dark side apparently.

Now I’m gonna really show my age…

Is anyone here a Turtle?

I think I know about Turtles from here. Maybe even from you. But I don’t remember what one is.

Sorry about the layoffs, Puggy. Hope your job is safe.

Glad things are clearing up some, Auntie Cold.

Wanna see my new hat? And me wearing the hat and matching scarf. And me wearing the hat while it’s in progress.

Tired and going off to bed, I think.

Is it Firday yet?

GT

Hamantaschen are made - I decided to do two dozen poppyseed, one dozen fig and one dozen raspberry.

They are incredibly delicious, as should be expected of any food that has that kind of fat and sugar content. The Boy has eaten three cookies so far, as he feels it is his duty as the resident Jew to taste test all the flavours to ensure they are worthy of his regard.

swampus, we always knew there was a big snarly bear hiding somewhere under that cuddly jolly exterior. Just try not to lose your cool over that dreadful colour scheme at work… urk.

They’re shipping me off to the suburbs for work tomorrow. Boo. Guess that means it’s time to shuffle off to bed.

ETA: Oooooh… I love the hat, gt! The yarn is a gorgeous colour… too bad there aren’t too many hat and scarf days left this year.

Up and off to work.

^I swear I sent that at 0800EST. I made it through another day. the company did not come…yet. I can deal with [del]bloated sacks of protoplasm[/del] senior management poking around my store, I just hate the " You have to stay in you store and have it ready, they’re coming any time between now and the heat death of the universe." Gordie chewed the plug off my window fan. He was smart enogh to unplug it first.

Gesundheit?

Spaz, Clerks is like my autobiography. At my last job, we even used to play warehouse Wiffle ball. [Dante]I’m not even supposed to be here today![/Dante]

I hope you make it through the layoffs, Puggy.

Nice hat, gt!

Exams. Lots of them. Unprepared. Should have paid attention in lecture. MUST STUDY! Ogod, not enough time, NOT ENOUGH TIME!!! eye twitch

Kill… me…

Whew!! It’s been one hell of a long day! I am seriously, seriously overwhelmed at work and getting tired of the “opportunities to excel”.

The boss told me today I could say no to one of the things he handed off to me, but damn, the way he said it made me think I shouldn’t say no. It wasn’t that he was going to get upset about it, but I know he’s testing. I was very honest, though, and told him that I felt very overwhelmed at the moment because I feel the need to do everything well. He told me that wasn’t possible and that I needed to determine what was the most important in terms of hotness of project and to accept the fact that I couldn’t do everything he was asking at 100%.

That doesn’t sit well with me. I am my own worst critic, and I know it. However, I cannot just say “good enough for government work”. My work ethic won’t let me. What a conundrum.

My son got his food handler’s permit today. He’s so stoked about getting a job. I’m glad to see such a “go get 'em” attitude in him. I’m proud of him too.

Puggy, I hope the lay-offs don’t come your way.

Where’s Pie been?

I’m sorry about the kitty, Spaz.

I know there’s more to address, but I am well and truly tuckered out.

Hugs to all.

In a “retro” sense. Compared to today’s “modern” family-friendly bowling centers with tables and attached chairs that look like they were swiped out of a Burger King, and the cutesy animations, and how they’re all one flat level so a person in a wheelchair could roll in from the parking lot, through the bowling area and on down the lane without feeling the slightest bump, I want the old hard fiberglass seats that don’t swivel, and having to go down two or three steps, and where are the ashtrays and recessed drink holders?

And don’t get me started on “cosmic” bowling. We were in the 9th frame a while back, and the black lights went on and the white lights went off, and the strobes and whirling spotlights came on. The lane changed from brown to blue, we couldn’t see the spots and we both left wood standing in the 10th because we just couldn’t see what we were doing. At least now we know what to avoid!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Soon I must purtify cause we’re goin’ for brekkies at that paragon of fine dinin’ known as Three Squares Diner. They have a good breakfast.

gt the hat and scarf are tres chic!

gotti disco bowlin’? Are you supposed to wear skates?

BBBobbio I know what a Turtle is. I say to you, Get off’n mah lawn ya whippersnapper! :stuck_out_tongue:

doggio good to know Gordie is electricity conscious.

Ok, off to get purtified.

It’s my Thursday!

Later Y’all!

Since you know what a Turtle is, and didn’t respond properly, you have to buy the drink of choice of the challenger for everyone around.

Hey all you Mumpers! [COLOR=“Black”]Swampy’s buying Dirty Bastards!!![/COLOR]

Sorry, no time to read again! It was a rough day yesterday. I had a set of twin baby goats born, but it was -42 yesterday morning, and when I found them, their ears were frozen solid, and the little girl’s back legs were frozen too. And yes they were born in the barn. It was, still is cold.

Here is a video of their day.

Last night I went to the garage for a smoke and saw this.

I have another goat that is going into labour any minute, so I have another busy day. I will try to catch up tonight.

Have a great day everyone!

Today’s is the Princess in the Tower’s 11th birthday. Happy birthday, kiddo!

She was the baby that almost wasn’t and she’s 11 know and perfect.

Annnnd she will share a birthday with one of FarmerChick’s goats!

Yeah, OK, goats are fine and dandy, but what will she be sharing with the squid?

Won’t anybody think of the [del]children[/del] squid!?!?

(Happy Birthday, Ivory Child!! :))

Blurf.

Happy birthdays.

Blurf.

Boo for frozen baby goat parts. Did you have to put them down? So sad.

My tummy is icky and I don’t wanna be here… Blurf.
