I can see that cats are usually associated with feminine, but my mental image of you is in a tasteful, classy three-piece, maybe even with tails, plus a top-hat, pocket watch, and cane. Which swings it back to masculine.
OK, here’s a question: Would Storyteller have given two roles the same generic label (i.e., “Investigator”), but different powers? Because as Drain just pointed out, if both Idle and NAF are telling the truth, then there’s another investigator out there (which seems likely, anyway) whose power works differently from Idle’s.
Not quite, though I can see how it could be interpreted that way (in fact, at the time, I thought that’s what the case was myself). It wasn’t that people thought that his statement was literally true and that he was therefore a serial killer; it was that the statement, even if only figuratively true, reflected a degree of paranoia that some folks consider more characteristic of Scum.
And peeker surely doesn’t realize it, but if he is actually Town, then what he’s doing right now is providing Scum a template for false claims. They can just claim “I’m vanilla, and I’m not posting my claim, just like peeker”. And of course, this is a much, much easier template to use, since they wouldn’t have to try to imitate Storyteller’s distinctive style.
At this point, there’s no reason whatsoever for peeker to withhold his PM (if he’s town); even when he started saying that, there was one confirmed Town Vanilla PM (in addition to the sample) and one confirmed power role PM out there; now there’s another (unconfirmed) vanilla and a couple unconfirmed power roles out there.
(And of course there’s a good reason for a scum peeker to withhold the PM, if he figures he’ll swing anyway and the scum have a limited supply).
In his Marvel Civil Wars game (which was a no vanilla game) he had four classes of power - Investigative, Protective, something like Aggressive, and Special. Looks like he’s following the same nomenclature here more or less.
I became convinced that yes he really was scum when he didn’t find someone to finger as scum for his death. I remember when my neck was on the line how hard it was to decide between attacking a scum (and maybe using an argument that was a bit too good) and attacking a Townie (and having people exonerate them on the basis of my attack).
Good point. But it seems odd peeker caved so easily. He didn’t really defend himself in the beginning, and then he made everybody real comfortable with their votes in the end. I’ll be interested to hear what his thoughts were… Assuming they are not in peekerese.
well to be honest this games sucked for me. i had a shitpot of work to do. was playing in two other games (big mistake having more than two going at one time). i had the peekkid#3 marching band stuff heating up so had a ton of time tied up in that.
and so to a great extent i was just skimming. so when i misinterpreted naf’s original post it just seemed like i got behind the eight ball. additionally, it didn’t give me enough time to go back and clearly make my case against mc ginty. plus story’s games can be a little more complicated than most. so not spending enough time to figure out what is going on is catastrophic. and no sour grapes, but especially on this board where lynching the loud seems to be tolerated, if not encouraged.
so yeh rl and overextension of resources ultimately cost me.
plus, there is only one game of story’s that i have played in where i lasted any length of time. i was a freaking claimed miller doc of all things. lasted to the end, go figure. every other time i get scragged by Day two.
and i won’t go into any further depth about the way i played it the way i did in this thread.
