Guilbert was also hysterical as Fran Fine’s grandmother on The Nanny. The episode with Elton John as one of my favorites!
Yetta on The Nanny was a great career renaissance; she stole every scene she was in. I wonder how many other actors have had two such memorable TV characters that many years apart.

I loved Ann Guilbert. She did an amazing job with Yetta.
There’s David McCallum, who was Ilya Kuryakin from U.N.C.L.E. in 1964 and has been Dr. “Ducky” Mallard from N.C.I.S. since 2003.
Poor Millie, teaming with Mary Tyler Moore on a hit sitcom appears to lead to a pretty high chance of long life. Many of her cast mates on both shows have beat the averages by plenty and most are still going.
Well, she “could light up the world with her smile”, so… 
Betty White as Sue Ann Nivens in the 70s, Rose Nylund in the 80s, and Elka Ostrovsky in the 10s.
Ron Howard began playing Opie Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show in 1960. He narrates (and appeared as a guest star on camera) for Arrested Development as recently as 2013. A fifty-three year stretch is pretty impressive and Howard is only 62 so there’s a good chance he can extend it.

That song has always been one of my favorite Dick Van Dyke Show moments, bar none. Sad to hear about Ann Guilbert’s passing. She took what could have been a colorless role, the leading lady’s more plain best friend, and made it a source of several genuine belly-laughs. It demonstrates what a true ensemble show the Dick Van Dyke Show was, that it would give its supporting characters bits like that where they could be the center of attention.
I was never a fan of The Nanny, but I did enjoy knowing that she had gotten another good part later in life. RIP.
