Good job, Fox News...you almost kept a straight face!

Hey, when did you get access to my voter registration?

I’ve been registered Independent for the past ten years.

But yeah, I do feel some guilt. I feel guilty for not telling him to get the hell out of my face, then hanging out with the guy for the rest of the night watching the Penn State game.

Everytime i feel reassured that Obama will win i read something like this and start to worry again :frowning:

Oh, chill. You’ve got two anecdotes with one bigot each, but in the OP there’s a diner full of people voting for Obama.

You are absolutely right.

But it’s not a rational thing, i think i’ll worry until i see Obama inaugurated.

Not to be a poison pill, but are you sure the reporter wasn’t being sarcastic?
I haven’t see it yet – no YouTube at work – so I’m really asking.

Oh Snapie-kins, let them have their flapdoodle.

Haven’t watched it either, but ya know, gotta have something to keep the panties bunged. I’m not sure the Dope would survive without another “Look at the dumb Republicans/conservatives/conservative media” thread.

You do an uncanny Democrat impression, then. Nothing personal. I’d suggest watching more sports and rooting for a good team. They say winning is contagious and all.

Well? Did you?
:stuck_out_tongue:

Ah, you see, I was asking someone who actually had seen it for an opinion, not someone who already had an opinion formed.

But thanks for trying to help out.

Youtube is blocked for me at work, but I watched the debate last Friday on Fox.

(Are we talking the same thing? It didn’t look like a diner setting to me. I thought it was some conference room somewhere on campus.)

I noticed more Obama hands. But since I personally felt the debate was a near draw (which actually is a good result for Obama), I let the visible discrepency slide.

Not the debate at all. A Fair and Balanced “poll” of senior citizens in a diner.

I was watching the Lehrer Show the other night, and it was showing a clip of a diner during the debate. You couldn’t hear a pin drop, even though the place was quite full. Everyone was watching that debate with great attention, even absorbtion.

I was thrilled. People really are engaged this election!

Well, Penn State is 5-0 and ranked #6 in the nation in the AP and Coaches polls, so I’m good on that front.

The reporter was certainly aware of the irony, but I don’t think he was sarcastic. I think it was just that in setting up the piece everyone had assumed that a diner in PA would be split and had given the reporter a script to read rather than letting him report what the people actually said. (Or else he thought the guy whose wife tried to keep his hand down was sincere about voting for McCain!)

[dating self]
What do you mean I’m not white? Does Dad know? This is a scandal!
[/dating self]

In all fairness, I can see how a McCain voter (or several) might pretend not to be one given that nobody else was raising a hand for McCain…

Ok, thanks. I see other posters saying the diner was in Pennsylvania, right?

Than it is a different setting than the one I saw Friday, which was (I think) on campus in “Old Miss”. I apologise for my interruption.

Nitpick: that’s Ole Miss.

:smack:
Somehow I knew I would still screw it up somewhere. Good to know I didn’t let myself down. Thanks.

The old couple is awesome. She shusshed him when he raised his hand for McCain and then raised BOTH hands for Obama. Too funny. Split? Please.
