Good Lord. 17 years old? (proposed SNL watch along thread)

Watching SNL tonight…

Lindsay Lohan is only 17?!?

High school aged girls didn’t look like that in my day, I tell ya.

Actually, my first serious girlfriend was built similarly, only she looked like a young Bernadette Peters. We split up when I was 20, she was 17. And I had the EXTREME honor of deflowering her. I am still proud of myself for that[sup]*[/sup].

[sup]*Yes, I know the age differences seem a little much. When we first got together, she lied about her age. And she was so…grown, we’ll say…that I didn’t have any reason to disbelieve her. I found out her real age after we’d dated for a while, but I cared too much to let it be an issue.

And, for the record, we dated about 2 years before the full deflowering took place.

While Miss Lohan is certainly a young woman of stunning beauty, I knew, and dated, a few girls who were even sexier when I was in high school.

According to the opening monologue, she’s legal in only 63 days.

Guess that depends on where you are. In some states, she’s been legal for neraly two years.

As I recall…in a couple of states, she’s been legal for four years. (With parental consent.) (Consent to MARRY.) (NOT to marry the PARENT.) (Damnit, you know what I meant!)

Hell, I live within shooting distance of Louisville, KY. A city in a state where I first heard the credo “If’s she’s old enough to pee, she’s old enough for me.”

And how on earth do you get parental consent for that??

“Take a seat Mr. S, I have something I want to talk you about - regarding your daughter…”

I watched SNL for the first time in years last night. I was impressed with Lindsay Lohan. She was a lot better than a number of “name” hosts have been throughout the years. I thought the Harry Potter sketch was well done. And she did look good…

What was the webcam dormroom skit all about? Cheech and Chong did that 30 years ago, and Pauly Shore copied it 15 years later. Maybe 15 years is the end of useful memory for stupid drug reference comedies.

Weekend update was funny when the actors played it straight. Last night Tina Fay and Jimmy Fallon kept commenting on their own jokes that fell flat, and kept reacting to things happening offstage. A parody of a newscast is often funny. A parody of a parody of a newscast isn’t.

When the guest, who’s not a comedian, outstages the regulars, that’s a bad sign.

So there’s the 30th annual rendition of the SNL suck these days rant. Thank you very much.

:smack:

Particularly true in the Debbie Downer sketch. Lindsay actually kept her cool long after the consummate unprofessionals Jimmy Fallon and Horatio Sanz lost their character (as usual). She didn’t crack up until Rachel Dratch was down.

I thought Lindsey Lohan (whom I’ve never actually seen act before, since I’m, you know, an adult and clueless) did a competent job in her sketches, but nothing more. And they were very protective of her. She was a minor player in the skits, with one or more of the regulars mugging like crazed hamsters around her to distract the audience’s attention. Christina Aguilera did a better job in the sketches when she hosted.

And whose idea was it to feature Horatio Sanz in every segment? He’s not funny and can’t act.

All in all, this show was mediocre to poor. Even the opening presidential spoof sucked.

I think it’s the radiation in the milk. “It does a body good.”

I must admit I was impressed, and this from a man who way prefers man parts to woman parts. Go figure.
