Good movies that you never want to see again...

Monster I can understand but I thought Ed Gein was pretty tame.

Of course, I’m sick enough to be waiting for AL FISH!

Nope. I was pressured into watching it on the grounds that it’s so moving, and I thought it was crap too. Admittedly I’m not a dog person, or even a Futurama person, but…bor-ing!

I own House of Sand and Fog and I can watch it repeatedly but just because the performances are so great. I think it helped that I had read the book first and so I was emotionally prepared for the ending. Still cried when I saw it though. Great great movie.

I can’t watch American Psycho again - I get what it’s about but it just sickens me to see it in all its explicit glory.

Also Mulholland Drive. Although I am still not convinced that one was worth watching once so maybe it doesn’t count.

That’s not what’s so goddamn sad about the story.

It’s that Fry chooses not to bring back the dog because he doesn’t know the dog spent its entire life waiting for him. I can’t speak for everyone else, but just thinking about it makes me want to punch random things, which usually means I’m terribly sad. It’s the pointless, casual tragedy of the barely missed chance.

Jacob’s Ladder. Way too disturbing.

Very Bad Things. Not a particularly great movie, but really got underneath my skin for some reason.

Damn you, I was going to come in here with this one. Naked

Score!

Saving Private Ryan

Brazil

Straw Dogs

I forgot to add a me too for American History X

Also -

[ul]
[li]Pay it Forward - too sad[/li][li]and In too Deep, because of a very violent homosexual rape scene - similar to American Me[/li][/ul]

I liked Naked, too- despite the annoying way the lead character speaks!

Wings of Honneamise (aka Royal Space Force)

Kinda like an anime, alternate-history, The Right Stuff. Sorta.

25th Hour
Monster’s Ball
Brian’s Song

A.I.- a depressing, awful movie. I don’t go to the movies to feel depressed. I can feel miserable sitting at home or going to work, so I don’t need a movie to make me feel unhappy about things.

The Lord Of The Rings- I sat through the first one to see what all the hype was about. Boring, over-hyped, self-indulgent, pretentious crap.

Bowling For Columbine I watched it once to see what it was all about, but I really don’t see myself getting anything out of a subsequent viewing, so I haven’t bothered (nor do I intend to).

Never Say Never Again- A (not very good) remake of Thunderball. Interesting to see once for comparison (and I have the DVD), but not something I can see myself watching again anytime soon.

I do, however, consider Fight Club and A Clockwork Orange to be two of my favourite movies, and have seen them both numerous times. I never realised people were so affected by either of those films, though…

Full Metal Jacket.
The Green Mile.

Both great films but I wouldn’t watch them again for some reason
